"Our stay at the marsh studio was truly a wonderful experience . . . one of our best vacations ever! We arrived in the rain and were so captivated by the contemporary design, sculptures and various works of art that we soon forgot about the rain. Ilsa and Bob are wonderful hosts. A bottle of wine, orange juice and the makings for coffee were very much appreciated. Their dog, Tilda, (a lab/something?? mix) was a fine greeter . . . energetic and loving and an added bonus for us.
We decided to stay local this summer and were amazed at all there was to do in the Westbrook area. We saw a great concert at the Kate Theater in Old Saybrook and a few days later we went to the Goodspeed Opera House to see a wonderful musical. Both theaters are unique and conveniently located. The Chamard Winery in Clinton and lunch deckside overlooking the vineyards was great. We had a terrific waiter and the food was delicious.
There are so many restaurants to choose from . . . The Boom at Pilots Point Marina has the view of the boats and the sunset, Lenny and Joe's was a favorite for eat in and take out. We love lobster so the Lobster Landing in Clinton was a great choice for hot lobster rolls and butter. For times when we wanted to stay put . . . the kitchen at the studio and outside grilling made dining in fun.
West Beach was great for Barbara who LOVES the ocean and the fishing/crabbing and kayaking on the tidal river was Duncan's top of the list relaxing activities. Just sitting on the dock with a morning cup of coffee was so special.
There was more that we did and much more to do next time and there will be a next time. Simply put, being there was WONDERFUL!!"

"We stayed at The River House for our son's graduation from the Coast Guard Academy. The home is picture perfect from the exterior to the well appointed interior. Our favorite feature was the rooftop deck in the morning ... sunrises, coffee and seabreeze! Morning strolls were a great way to start the day with the yacht club near by and rolling hills. We had a busy week of activities and it was a great place to call home at the end of a long day. Safeway, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts were all a short drive away."

"My family had the pleasure of renting this property academically for two years and I can't say enough about the home, location and owners! It is a very comfortable home with expansive ocean views in a beautiful seaside community. The owners were wonderful and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this property for both short and long-term rental. We came to Old Lyme to visit and never left!"

"We stayed at Fallen Fence last August for a week for our anniversary. We have 4 children so we are always looking for space. This house has it and more. There is a TV room, large living room. The attic loft was the favorite hangout for our teens. I love to cook and this well stocked kitchen, with it's commercial range, plenty of counter space and a large fridge was just want we needed. There are two patios, one off the kitchen that is very convenient for barbecuing. The other overlooks the grounds and pool. With a hand painted terra cotta tuscan table that seats 10 it's the perfect place for lunch (it has an automatic awning for sunny days) or for a lovely dinner setting. One of the things I loved the most about this house is that there were 5 different places on the property where you can have breakfast, lunch, formal dinner, cocktail party. It's really set up very well for entertaining. Lot's of linens, glassware, cutlery and dinnerware and serving plates. The place, simply put, is gorgeous. I'm not much of an outdoors or pool person but the rest of my family is and they really enjoyed the pool, hiking and boating in the pond. It's just a wonderful home!"
