  • Great Vacation Spot

"We rented this house for three years and loved it. The cottage is adorable and has everything you could want. Denise is very helpful and even supplied a blow-up mattress for my grand-daughters. The lake is clean and has a gradual incline which makes it perfect for children. Although the road is a main thoroughfare it isn't heavily used and the package store across the street is hidden behind a stand of evergreens. The house was supplied with brochures and information on restaurants, attractions, and grocery and drug stores in the area. How anyone could be dissatisfied with this lovely home amazes me."

  • A Great Time For All...

"My family (3 generations) and I have rented this cottage for the past two summers and have just booked it again for two weeks this 2014 season. The cottage owners Frank and Connie are wonderful people and the cottage has totally exceeded all our expectations. It is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped with a kitchen, dining room, living room and walk out deck on the first floor. The upper bedrooms are bright and cheery with a bathroom on both floors. Best of all the cottage is a short walk to the water (no fear of little ones walking out the front door and into the water) and is located on the back cove of the pristine lake. A very quiet and beautiful area of the lake with a silky sand walkout to the water. Great for younger ones to swim and play. A short swim or float across the cove brings you to what I like to call a private mini lagoon where my grandchildren love to wade and swim in the sandy, ankle deep water. Very nice. Every day spent at this lake house whether swimming, boating, fishing or just laying out on the sandy waterfront, has been a memorable time for myself, my wife, children and grandchildren, and we are looking forward to returning this year. Thank you so much Connie and Frank..."

  • Defiantly Not To Be Missed

"The house is extremely well kept. Upon arriving (late at night) we were met with a picturesque scene of a winter wonderland as the area was covered in snow making the house feel very welcoming. The road on the way although some what remote were all clear and gritted. The house itself is amazing, we were only in the door about 2 min and the feature fireplace was on, the kettle was boiling (its an Irish thing - tea was on the way), it already felt like home. The house itself is very well maintained and spacious with all mod cones. The master bedroom has a very large bathroom with a large walk in shower to accompany it! The bed was extremely comfortable! The other bedrooms were also quite spacious and there were plenty of bathrooms to go around for the other less fortunate who did not have the privilege to stay in the master bedroom with its ceiling fan and independent air con :) The house offers 3 TV's. One upstairs in a kind of sitting room, two down stairs. The main TV is situated over the fireplace (really miss that fire and large comfy couch!!). Connected to it is a Wii, Surround sound, Satellite TV, WiFi and above all Apple TV. This was quite handy to connect the iPhone up to view the holiday snaps on the big screen and also stream music. The other TV is situated in its own room off the kitchen. The Kitchen was very well equipped and spacious although not used too much as AJ's does take out and its 5 min away :) and there is a well equipped liquor store beside it with a HUGE selection of wine! Ok back to the house. Off the kitchen is a double garage with remote doors making the trips out allot warmer as it was cold outside. Off the main TV room was decking and a BBQ but with the - temp outside so it did not see much use! The area seems remote but its not. There are allot of houses around with a lake and facilities for the residence. Even with all this the area is very quiet and tranquil. The only down side is (and not a huge one) you need a car to go anywhere (well unless your going for a walk). But to be honest the whole area and surrounding areas are all like that. There is quite allot to do in the surrounding towns and there is something for everyone. My advice is plan your days before you go so you know where to go! I would definitely recommend this house and look forward to staying here again!"

  • Idyllic

"i·dyl·lic: extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque. That's such a perfect word to describe our time in the Henkle House. Here's why: Location - the best thing about this place is the proximity to the beach. You are about 100 steps to the gate that gets you onto the private beach. The owner left us plenty of wrist bands that private beach goers must use. Ocean Beach Park is 25 ft to the right of the private beach so there is super easy access. Renovated house - the house has been recently renovated and belongs in the pages of a catalog. the owner went first class all the way - frontgate outdoor furniture, outdoor kitchen, pottery barn bedding, pier 1 accessories. I've never been in a rental that has been so carefully and beautifully decorated. So relaxing! Great for kids - Ocean Beach Park kept the kids easily entertained, cloudy or sunny. mini-golf, splash park, amusement rides, beach, playground, digging for crabs. At the end of each day, we stuck all five kids (mostly toddlers) upstairs to sleep on the 3rd floor. There was a TV in there so they could watch a movie at the end of the day and fall asleep. I honestly don't know why this area isn't jammed all summer long but I am grateful that it hasn't yet been discovered. This house was a perfect place for us - launching pad for Ocean Beach Park activities and relaxing for the granddad who preferred to read on the beautiful outdoor deck. We hope to come back for years to come."
