  • An Outdoor Dream!

"We stayed at Fallen Fence last August for a week for our anniversary. We have 4 children so we are always looking for space. This house has it and more. There is a TV room, large living room. The attic loft was the favorite hangout for our teens. I love to cook and this well stocked kitchen, with it's commercial range, plenty of counter space and a large fridge was just want we needed. There are two patios, one off the kitchen that is very convenient for barbecuing. The other overlooks the grounds and pool. With a hand painted terra cotta tuscan table that seats 10 it's the perfect place for lunch (it has an automatic awning for sunny days) or for a lovely dinner setting. One of the things I loved the most about this house is that there were 5 different places on the property where you can have breakfast, lunch, formal dinner, cocktail party. It's really set up very well for entertaining. Lot's of linens, glassware, cutlery and dinnerware and serving plates. The place, simply put, is gorgeous. I'm not much of an outdoors or pool person but the rest of my family is and they really enjoyed the pool, hiking and boating in the pond. It's just a wonderful home!"

  • Little House great lodging alternative for Uconn Parents visiting from out of town

"Last weekend my son graduated from the University of Connecticut, and I was lucky enough to find this great treasure of a house, with the most inviting outside deck facing the pond and secluded forest. In the morning we had coffee watching the birds and in the evening my family all sat up late stargazing. The house & property were so relaxing and comfortable! We usually stayed at a hotel when visiting UConn in the past, but they were always 30-40 mins away, and a bit dull. The Little house was 20 mins to campus and allowed us much better space than a hotel room ever could. The surrounding town of Pomfret, ~15 mins away, offered terrific and un-crowded options for dining. don't miss Rosie's Drive thru at the top of the road on your way in. The seafood was delicious. My husband & I only regret we did not fine Eliza's wonderful hospitality sooner! She provided all manner of bath products for the very modern bathroom as well as TP, paper towels, garbage bags, etc and she even stocked the fridge with a bit of milk, muffins and coffee which was so nice. I heartily recommend this house to anyone looking for a calm and peaceful retreat in a beautiful and scenic part of Connecticut!"

"I believe this is the 4th year we've stayed at the cottage and once again my wife and I had a great stay and vacation. Thank you Fran and Mary Ann for being such great hosts. This is a great place to stay for anyone wanting to vacation in the Niantic area. We highly recommend and you can't go wrong with such great hosts. See ya next year."

  • Beautiful, Charming and Cozy

"I would have to say that we were very pleased with this house. I was traveling with my mother Inlaw and my 2 girls. Everything was well stocked, very clean, neat. The welcome basket with a personalized note was so awesome. The fenced in back yard was an added bonus It was perfect for my two girls, ages 2 and 5 to run around and play. The added bonus room down stairs was huge. Everything was beautifully decorated. The house is perfectly located. We went to the Aquarium, Old Mystic Village, Dinosaur Place, Westerly RI, everything was so close. Blue squid is a must, delicious cupcakes and grilled cheese sandwiches and you must visit sea swirls, for ice cream and a fresh cod sandwich.... so good!!! My 5 year old daughter said this was one of the best vacations she has ever been on. The only thing missing was daddy, he was away on business. We will certainly be back. Thank you so much Tina and Rob. :):)"
