"The pictures don't do this house justice. It sits on a serene 7 acres. We spent most of our time just drinking coffee/wine, reading and hanging out with friends outside. The house itself is charming and full of big, beautiful windows that bring the outside in. We had a fabulous time and will stay again!"

"We were three adult couples looking for a relaxing weekend getaway between Boston and NYC. This was the perfect place. The area is great -we stopped at some adorable small towns, went on a fabulous hike and loved exploring such a beautiful part of the state. The house itself is on a gorgeous piece of property on a pretty river with old trees and open fields. Picturesque. The house was perfect for us. There is a great big kitchen for cooking, big family room with fireplace and three very private bedrooms all with private baths. The owners were great communicators who were kind enough to allow not only us but our dog. I would love to come back (and probably will!) and would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for a well decorated, clean and peaceful getaway."

"My brother , sister and I stayed here in Apr.2015. The location was terrific . Setting very peaceful, was such a relaxing vacation. The house was in great condition and very comfortable. I brought my dog along and the owner
had dog bowls set out for her!!! Water view in back and golf course in front. Would highly recommend."

"We were so happy to have discovered this beautiful gem in the CT countryside! The home is lovely -- both inside and out. If fact, the listing photos do not really do it justice. This is a gorgeous old house, lovingly restored and decorated with obvious care and talent. It is also a very comfortable house. From the moment you enter the mud room (the most gorgeous mud room I've ever seen) till you sink into the sumptuous down-filled pillows on the family room sofa, you will feel totally pampered. The bathrooms and bedrooms include quality linens and towels, and the kitchen is well-equipped and spacious enough for several cooks. And the dining room... well, the dining room is simply breathtaking!
Homeowner Sheila took the time to greet us on our arrival and show us the entire house, answering all of our questions and providing tips about where to eat out and what to see. My husband and I loved hiking down the surrounding country roads and at nearby Bee Brook, and exploring beautiful Litchfield. We visited White Flower Farms, The Glebe, and the Bellamy-Ferriday House. We wandered the shore of Lake Waramaug at dusk -- a beautiful sight indeed. And we may have over-indulged on the ice cream at Arethusa Farm and Dairy. :)
If you love the comfort and beauty, antiques and the outdoors, gardens and historic architecture, this is definitely the place for you!"
