"We have been staying in Kathy's home as we looked for a purchase in Greenwich. The house itself fit our needs perfectly, we have two daughters and the back yard has been their favorite place. Kathy has landscaped it with beautiful flowers and the lawn is in immaculate condition. There is also an outdoor fire place that we have roasted many marshmallows after using her grill to entertain along with a hammock and patio furniture.
Kathy has provided everything from towel to sheets to coffee to designer soaps. The three bedrooms were great for our family and the finished basement allowed us to have guests spend a few nights as well. We have taken advantage of the screened in back porch to have coffee each morning.
The location is fantastic as it is about 0.7 miles to Greenwich Ave and I have walked to the train each day. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a centrally located home in Greenwich that is kept in great condition."

"We spent a week at the Granite Lodge during our annual pilgrimage to Connecticut. Since we relocated to Michigan 12 years ago, we try to get back to Connecticut to visit family and friends every summer. In the past, we have always rented a cottage on the beach, but decided to try something different this year. We found that the Granite Lodge was an even better option than a beach cottage as it provided us with a lovely private retreat and our choice of several beaches close by. We absolutely loved the property as did everyone who joined us for a 30th birthday celebration for our daughter. The house is so warm and inviting with a magical feel. The gourmet kitchen is exquisite for both cooking and dining. The landscaping is brilliantly designed and the swimming pool is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. We also met the owners who were very nice and quite helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent at the Granite Lodge and wished we could have stayed longer."

"I rented this home for a week with my sister-in-law. We stayed here with our six boys below the age of 8 and my mother. We all LOVED our week in Hawks Nest and wished we could have stayed there for the whole month. This house is the perfect summer cottage - right on the water, easy to keep clean and live in with both older people and a lot of little kids, the great picnic table dining area overlooking the water provided a space for relaxing meals and fun board game competitions, the beds were very comfortable and the sound of the waves outside the windows was divine. The house had all the utensils we needed for making delicious summer meals.
The Hawks Nest community is friendly, welcoming and fun. We met many other families who were also there for the week and everyone had a great time playing together, sharing stories and exploring the beach. The little country store across the street from this home provides daily activities for kids organized by a local college student. The college student who organized the activities the week we were there was GREAT with our kids. She took the kids crabbing and then organized crab races on the beach, organized a morning of making tie-dye t-shirts, taught the kids how to make bubble wands out of pipe cleaners, set up shell painting and arranged for a scientist from Mystic to come teach the kids about ocean life. The scientist brought about 10 different marine animals with him which the kids got to touch. There is also a beach movie night on Thursdays. None of the activities needed to be signed up for in advance so everything was very relaxing. We could just show up when/if we wanted to join the activities and all of the activities were free, so it was like having a summer camp without the hassle of planning and paying huge fees. At the end of the week, the college student organized a talent show for the kids. This was a HUGE highlight for the kids and comical for the parents to watch.
The street is a dead end street. Our kids rode their bikes all around the neighborhood without having to worry about cars.
The beach is rocky so some people might prefer to have water shoes for swimming or wading out into the water. We played in our bare feet and our kids did not use water shoes but I noticed a lot of other people wore water shoes.
Thank you for a wonderful week in Old Lyme!"

"We stayed at the Spirit Horse Farm for two nights. How do I even explain this place? From the minute you step into the barn, you are in awe of it and of everything in it. The amazing handiwork, the open space, the incredible beauty that is Spirit Horse Farm. We had the best time. The beautiful farm setting in the beautiful area of Kent, CT. We have always loved the area with the hiking trails and Bulls Bridge and Kent Falls so it seemed a perfect place to go. It was beyond anything we could imagine. Thank you to Guy for making our stay wonderful. The many tasty treats he left us, his friendly personality and if you needed him for anything he was right there. We loved watching the chickens and roosters, the beautiful horses and the elusive peacock. Every once in a while, Guy would release the hundred or so doves and they would zoom around the huge barn we were staying in as if putting on a show. I would totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Great for a small intimate gathering as we had and we can see it would be amazing for a large gathering. We have booked more days in October to see the fall foliage and hope to bring more family members. The Spirit Horse Farm is everything the photos show and tons more. Thank you for providing such a slice of unique and for letting us live in a dream world for a few days. LOVE LOVE LOVE Spirit Horse Farm! This will be our destination for many more return visits."
