  • Paradise Week

"My daughters and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at this home.. It was all, and then more than we had expected. The house was very clean, well appointed and the use of the internet meant that our busy family could keep connected. My grandchildren came for a cookout and swim at the beach. We also rode bikes around the neighborhood after dinner. There is a very nice restaurant within walking distance so we could walk off the weight that we put on. The owner is very friendly, readily available, and takes pride in her home. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life."

  • From Great Neck with gratitude

"We stayed at this beautiful house for a month and absolutely loved our accommodation. The house is so airy and spacious, very tastefully designed. We felt totally at home there, so cozy and comfortable. Every single detail in the house is taking care of, starting from every cooking and dining need to plentiful of fresh towels, sheets and blankets. The owners are very understanding, easy to reach and communicate to. They immediately responded to every request or question we would have. They made us feel very welcomed there. There are so many things to do around in the community and in the area around, so many unique restaurants, farms, and places to see. We fell in love with Connecticut and its people. We are looking forward to come back soon. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful house with us."

  • Perfect place for a Family Rreunion

"It would be hard to find a more lovely and historic setting to reunite 4 generations than this Connecticut home. From the moment you step out of your car you feel at home. The feeling continues as you move into Erle's magical house. The lovely entry, the delightful kitchen, looking towards the "Old Toy Factory" across the road, the large living room and the cozy den provide places for families to either be together or separate for reading and other activities. This property has a large yard with a river running through it and plenty of room to roam or just sit and enjoy the sounds and sights of the Connecticut country side. If you look into the history of the neighborhood you will discover even more things to make your stay memorable. Thank you Erle for providing such a wonderful place for our family reunion."

  • Idyllic

"i·dyl·lic: extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque. That's such a perfect word to describe our time in the Henkle House. Here's why: Location - the best thing about this place is the proximity to the beach. You are about 100 steps to the gate that gets you onto the private beach. The owner left us plenty of wrist bands that private beach goers must use. Ocean Beach Park is 25 ft to the right of the private beach so there is super easy access. Renovated house - the house has been recently renovated and belongs in the pages of a catalog. the owner went first class all the way - frontgate outdoor furniture, outdoor kitchen, pottery barn bedding, pier 1 accessories. I've never been in a rental that has been so carefully and beautifully decorated. So relaxing! Great for kids - Ocean Beach Park kept the kids easily entertained, cloudy or sunny. mini-golf, splash park, amusement rides, beach, playground, digging for crabs. At the end of each day, we stuck all five kids (mostly toddlers) upstairs to sleep on the 3rd floor. There was a TV in there so they could watch a movie at the end of the day and fall asleep. I honestly don't know why this area isn't jammed all summer long but I am grateful that it hasn't yet been discovered. This house was a perfect place for us - launching pad for Ocean Beach Park activities and relaxing for the granddad who preferred to read on the beautiful outdoor deck. We hope to come back for years to come."
