"I stayed with my family for a week and had a great time! My grandchild was christened and we had a small get together at this heavenly place.
The house was clean and the location is perfect! We all loved it!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful place!"

"We were so happy to have discovered this beautiful gem in the CT countryside! The home is lovely -- both inside and out. If fact, the listing photos do not really do it justice. This is a gorgeous old house, lovingly restored and decorated with obvious care and talent. It is also a very comfortable house. From the moment you enter the mud room (the most gorgeous mud room I've ever seen) till you sink into the sumptuous down-filled pillows on the family room sofa, you will feel totally pampered. The bathrooms and bedrooms include quality linens and towels, and the kitchen is well-equipped and spacious enough for several cooks. And the dining room... well, the dining room is simply breathtaking!
Homeowner Sheila took the time to greet us on our arrival and show us the entire house, answering all of our questions and providing tips about where to eat out and what to see. My husband and I loved hiking down the surrounding country roads and at nearby Bee Brook, and exploring beautiful Litchfield. We visited White Flower Farms, The Glebe, and the Bellamy-Ferriday House. We wandered the shore of Lake Waramaug at dusk -- a beautiful sight indeed. And we may have over-indulged on the ice cream at Arethusa Farm and Dairy. :)
If you love the comfort and beauty, antiques and the outdoors, gardens and historic architecture, this is definitely the place for you!"

"6 adults, 6 kids, no problem! My brothers and our families converged in Connecticut with our 6 young children and were blown away. There was plenty of space in the house, a chef's kitchen, plenty of large towels for the pool and beach, and even toys for the children! The hard work and care put into the landscaping and details in the home make Granite Lodge feel like a resort and a charming cottage home at the same time. The pool is an incredible feat of engineering as the floor of the pool is actually the natural granite slab that the lodge is perched upon! The beach is <10 minutes away, has bathrooms, a playground, volleyball net and is easy to manage and get back to your vehicle. Our children made their first ever s'mores in the fire pit (wood chopped and ready to go). Didn't get to enjoy the hot tub... but it was warm and ready to go....next time. Our family had remarkable stay place with indelible memories. Highest recommendation."
