  • Family Reunion for a sad event

"We had a gathering of our family for the unfortunate passing of our mother. She finished her 90 years at a nearby assisted living facility and had lost our father 5 months ago (after 66 years). My mom was an absolute lover of the Long Island Sound and rented a place every year in Branford in earlier years. We rented on last minute notice and Jennifer & Jim were so accommodating in every way. They greeted us on arrival and came over within 15 minutes when we had a question during our stay. We had both rainy days and wonderful sunny days and the location made it awesome for both situations. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and slept with the doors & windows open and listened to the sounds of the ocean...... My daughter, son-in law and 2 year old grandson stayed in the apartment. We filled every other room and everyone loved their accommodations We spent alot of time on the beach and in the water. also used the kayak. Even though it was an emotional weekend, it was made so special by this location. We had a "remembrance" hour on the point of the property-my mom would have loved it :-) Thank you for wonderful memories LB"

  • From Great Neck with gratitude

"We stayed at this beautiful house for a month and absolutely loved our accommodation. The house is so airy and spacious, very tastefully designed. We felt totally at home there, so cozy and comfortable. Every single detail in the house is taking care of, starting from every cooking and dining need to plentiful of fresh towels, sheets and blankets. The owners are very understanding, easy to reach and communicate to. They immediately responded to every request or question we would have. They made us feel very welcomed there. There are so many things to do around in the community and in the area around, so many unique restaurants, farms, and places to see. We fell in love with Connecticut and its people. We are looking forward to come back soon. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful house with us."

  • Idyllic

"i·dyl·lic: extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque. That's such a perfect word to describe our time in the Henkle House. Here's why: Location - the best thing about this place is the proximity to the beach. You are about 100 steps to the gate that gets you onto the private beach. The owner left us plenty of wrist bands that private beach goers must use. Ocean Beach Park is 25 ft to the right of the private beach so there is super easy access. Renovated house - the house has been recently renovated and belongs in the pages of a catalog. the owner went first class all the way - frontgate outdoor furniture, outdoor kitchen, pottery barn bedding, pier 1 accessories. I've never been in a rental that has been so carefully and beautifully decorated. So relaxing! Great for kids - Ocean Beach Park kept the kids easily entertained, cloudy or sunny. mini-golf, splash park, amusement rides, beach, playground, digging for crabs. At the end of each day, we stuck all five kids (mostly toddlers) upstairs to sleep on the 3rd floor. There was a TV in there so they could watch a movie at the end of the day and fall asleep. I honestly don't know why this area isn't jammed all summer long but I am grateful that it hasn't yet been discovered. This house was a perfect place for us - launching pad for Ocean Beach Park activities and relaxing for the granddad who preferred to read on the beautiful outdoor deck. We hope to come back for years to come."

  • Wonderful family vacation!

"Do not hesitate to book this fantastic home! We had lovely family vacation for 18, ages 4-75. Fun for all! Easy drive to Stony Creek CT. Easy to park your car for few days. Quick ferry to the house. Home is beautiful. All bedrooms and baths are nicely done. Nice linens/bedding. Great, stocked kitchen (no microwave, no biggie). Wonderful decks for coffee and full meals while watching the sun set. Great little beach with kayaks. Plenty of room to roam, rocks to climb, places to relax. We took the Thimble Islands tour with Capt. Bob (fantastic), we ate dinner one night in Branford at Nataz, 10 minutes away, we sailed for few hours with Eric Treu at Sailworks (worth every penny), we rented 19ft boat for a week from docks in Guilford (totally worth it). One of the best family trips ever! Jeff was so accommodating and easy to work with. Rent it!"
