  • Wonderful Stay!

"We were completely pleased with our stay. We wanted a place to celebrate the Christmas holiday near my elderly mom, with family members coming to stay together in the house. So we needed a place that would be special even when staying indoors a lot! It indeed was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, very clean, and we really enjoyed the colonial theme. And lovely to walk on the beach, cold though it was. The owners were very gracious and friendly."

  • Short stay at Little House in the Big Woods!

"Stayed here for 2 nights to attend family reunion nearby. This is a great little hideaway in the woods. Restored 200 year old house is quaint and cozy. We loved the historic feeling and solitude of the property. The drive down the lane to get here is breathtaking and beautiful. Would be nice to come back and explore the woods and pond as we did not have time. This is a great property to get away from the city noise and bury yourself in a good book! Owner Eliza very easy to reach and helpful with suggestions for dining etc in immediate area. Bathroom stocked with lovely toiletries and kitchen stocked nicely as well (although very small). Winery down the road a bit fun to visit. Would love to return when we have more time!"

  • Tranquility

"Myself, partner and another couple who are good friends rented this charming, rustic home that was nestled in a forested area by a brook. The house had many windows, all overlooking the surrounding property, where one could watch the beautiful fall leaves drifting down and take in the sunlight filtering in through the trees. We had a lovely stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable and airy as was the living room and dining room areas and the kitchen was well-equipped for all of our preparation of meals. One of my personal pleasures was listening to the brook at night, which was a lullabye to me and I three nights of restful, uninterrupted sleep, which was a luxury to me. The surrounding area is quite breath-taking and the Audubon Center down the road from the house, has great nature trails and we went on a bird watching walk with the members there and they were very personable, informative, and accommodating and it was one of the highlights of the weekend. If you love nature and hiking and art, this is an ideal area. We look forward to staying in this country hide-away again in the near future."

  • Great family vacation on the CT shoreline

"We booked this in July 2014 and enjoyed a week at 'Little White Top', named after the rocky reef area that surrounds the point. Everyone in the family loved it ... quiet, quaint, a genuine old school gem of a seasonal home with a fantastic protected waterfront location. I kayaked daily, including a couple of longer trips up the nearby river and across the open water to the Falkner Island lighthouse which is now a bird sanctuary. It's a 3 mile crossing so not for the casual kayaker or rough windy days. But there are many great places to kayak to for all skill levels. The coastline here is great to explore with 2 beautiful parks in the area one just a 10 min paddle (or bike ride), beaches, and you can also paddle as far as the Thimble Islands on a nice day. The house was perfect for us with plenty of bedrooms, and the two half baths plus nice shower accessed from the backyard. No TV was great, and nicely balanced by the rock solid WiFi connection. Kitchen had everything we needed and was a pleasure to cook in. Nice to have the 5 gallon drinking water supplies available. We swam both off the rocks and off the little beach just 4 doors down, where you could also keep kayaks if you prefer to launch from a beach. If you swim off the rocks it helps to use water shoes, as it's slippery. The screened porch is fantastic and we spent many a family night there having dinner and playing board games. The view across the bay is great, particularly around July 4th when lots of fireworks are viewable. Just loved it, and the owners were great too, very friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommended, we hope to come back!"
