"Straight out of a romance novel. Upon entering the house, my 23 year old son expressed that he was overwhelmed with the thought that this property was nothing less than a true "treasure." He immediately proclaimed it the best house on all the shoreline. It's beauty is magnified by the warm cozy feeling of simpler days gone by, but the house is far from lacking in any amenities. Even in all its simplicity, it provides all the necessities of daily living that could ever be needed to enjoy a fabulous getaway. The owner proves to be a gracious host and has the home fully stocked the house with every trinket and tool that could ever be needed on any vacation......... from numerous tables, chairs, pillows and family games right down to an ice-cream scoop, cork screw and matches on the fireplace. No need to worry if you forget to bring something. It's already there! The furnishings were quaint and elegant to appeal to the true eclectic heart, and the beds................contrary to an earlier post.................were "Oh Ssooooo............ comfortable!" One of the best night's sleep we ever had on a trip. The whole house speaks volumes of warm hearts, happy family gatherings, and just plain overall good times. We will definitely be going back again, and again!!!"

  • CT getaway

"Just returned from a too short stay in this cozy cabin. Top of the line, all-around-want-for-nothing place to enjoy a fantastic view of the lake, cook a gourmet meal, lounge in front of the stone fireplace, read, bird watch, explore and hike nearby. Although we didn't actually get on or into the lake, we are dreaming about it in a return visit. Every detail is for comfort, convenience and enjoyment. You can feel the love and care that makes this a very special place. Some hikes: Mashamoquet Brook SP, Natchaug State Forest, Mansfield Hollow SP, Bafflin Sanctuary, Airline Trail, James L. Goodwin State Forest. This would be a great home base to explore Connecticut's quiet corner."

  • Perfect

"My party of 12 having been getting together for the past seven years to enjoy the Super Bowl together. Most of the houses were very nice but this I one takes the cake. All the amenities that you would find in your own home plus more. You didn't feel like a guest in someone else's house, it felt like you were home. The kitchen had everything that you could possible need, family room was large to accommodate all twelve adults very confortably. And four full baths. One last thing to write about is their house manager Deb. She was just a doll! We hope to do this again next year."
