  • Perfect Location- Beautiful Home

"A fabulous home with incredible charm, space and fenced-in yard. You can walk to everything and get lost in the beautiful neighborhoods of mystic. There are not a lot of photos but this home is spacious and updated. It was so nice being able to bring our dog. We will be back again. Loved Mystic and all there was to do from hikes, to great dinners out and visits to nearby towns. Missing my early walks in town to the local coffee shop. People were so friendly."

  • Our trip to the ocean

"We were attracted to this area because we could be at the ocean in less than an 8 hour drive from our home. Fans of "Daddy Jack's Cooking with the Blues" YouTube cooking classes, we also hoped to meet Jack Chaplin at his restaurant in New London. This rental property was very roomy and had everything we required. It was so nice that most kitchen staples were there for our use. It was pleasant sitting in the private back yard while our dinner grilled over the coals. The beach is 5 mins walk from the home--Ocean Park also has a swimming pool, water slide, mini putt, and events like movie night and live bands. Fun things we did included: ferry to Block Island and seeing the sites by moped, shopping and eating in Mystic seaport, drove to NYC to visit the 9/11 museum. A vacation with a bit of everything!"

  • New Yorkers in love with Madison!

"We rented this lovely cottage for July and August in 2014. We took it sight unseen, buoyed by the photos and the wonderful reviews. This turned out to be a wonderful decision, because not only did we love the cottage, but we became fast friends with the terrific owners, and our summer time in Madison strengthened our commitment to spend more time in Madison throughout the year. We launched kayaks from the nearby beach; we enjoyed the occasional evening outdoor music from the nearby hotel. We cannot say enough about the service provided by the owners and the great location of the cottage. This property gets 5 stars easily!"

  • Charming, relaxing, but limited beach amenities

"We just spent 16 nights in this charming cottage. The photos and descriptions in the HomeAway/VRBO listing are accurate, and the owners have furnished the place very nicely. The patio is especially nice, for morning coffee and evening outdoor meals (with fresh herbs available in pots). The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans and everything you could possible need for cooking. The shed has lots of beach-related supplies. The WiFi is unusually fast, with download speeds of 27 Mbps. The neighborhood is great for walking and folks are friendly. There are a few negatives, however. Be aware that the cottage is in the Cedar Crest Association, not the Chapman Beach Association. You only have access to the Cedar Crest beach, which is approximately 35 steps wide and 9 steps deep, at mid-tide; in other words, it’s a very small beach space. We ended up going to the Hammonasset State Park beach, which is 12 miles away. We have an annual pass to the park, but if you don’t have the pass, it costs $9/day if you are a CT resident and $15/day if a non-resident ($13/$22 on weekends). Also, there is no gas grill, just the charcoal Weber version and the television is not HD and is pretty much basic cable, which is unusual for a rental at this price level. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing experience and the owners were easy to work with."
