  • Peaceful Retreat

"This was a very pleasant cottage tucked back away from the road with shade, peace, and quiet, yet really just a few steps from the beach. The hosts were very friendly and they are dog lovers so they made us and our pooch feel welcome. The accommodations are not luxury but clean, comfortable and attractive. The beach is private which is very nice. They welcomed our well behaved dog on the beach on a leash. The area has interesting attractions and restaurants. The Florence Griswold Museum is a must see for art lovers. Johnny Ads Seafood in Old Saybrook is a must for a true New England seafood experience. This is also a great place for kayaking, swimming and fishing. I would recommend this property to a friend."

  • Another fabulous long weekend!!

"Yes, we just had to return to this beautiful place for another "girl's weekend" of fun and relaxation. Once again, the house was very clean, well stocked and the owners, as always, are pleasure to work with. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I know that we WILL be back!! Thanks again M & G for allowing us to stay in your fabulous home on the beach! We had a great time!!"

  • High End Luxury Rental Home

"We recently rented this home and were blown away. It far exceeds the many properties we have rented from this site in the past. We were with 3 other families and a total of 3 young children and it was a great home for families with children of any age. The pictures posted here do not do it justice. The bedrooms are truly separate and relatively quiet which is unusual for a rental home and 4 couples could very happily share this home without sacrificing any privacy. Meanwhile, the open layout on the main floor makes for great space to socialize. The bathrooms were better than most 4 star hotels. Large marble enclosures, high end shower heads, Jacuzzi tubs, great sink fixtures. Like a luxury resort--you wanted to shower as many times as you could. As a home cook, I was very pleased with the kitchen which was the exception that was actually a "chef's kitchen." The appliances were top notch, the space was great. There were tons of pots and pans, utensils and serving dishes. Real granite counter tops and an open layout made it so much fun to cook with everyone around to chat. Ours was a winter rental but the yard, trampoline and pond looked great. The huge deck and seating area that runs the length of the main floor offers front row seats for the setting sun. The renters also provide brochures, toys, ping pong table, water gear, etc. etc. which all help to take a vacation to the next level. The wifi was fast. There is only 1 real TV with somewhat limited seating but there is a full sound system with many components as well as a sound system that runs throughout the house. Plug in your Ipod and you have your music anywhere you want. This is an excellent home to which we hope to return in the future."

  • Relax and Rejuvenate

"The cottage was so cute - just what you would want at a seaside retreat. It was well stocked with the things that we needed. The location was perfect - right on the beach, and we had the beach all to ourselves. Wrap around deck. Sun rises and sun sets were spectacular."
