"Myself and a group of Mom's and Daughters when for a Weekend retreat and we were Blessed beyond our expectations. This home is beautifully done and in a very peaceful area. We had a wonderful time going for walk and just spending quality time with our daughters. The kitchen was lacking nothing and the rooms were so cozy! We are planning a return trip very soon!!! Would recommend this home to anyone!!!!!!!"

"My husband and I and our four sons wanted some real family time before half of the kids jetted off to college. We explored a number of properties in western Connecticut. The innkeeper for the Amselhaus was incredibly friendly and communicative from the very start and we felt welcome before we even walked in the door. Once there, we felt instantly at home. I can honestly say I have never stepped into a vacation rental and felt as instantly at home and comfortable. We stayed in the north house which was perfect for our family. There were fresh cookies for all of us, coffee for the making in the morning, all the kitchen items one would need as well as a book of information about where we could eat out and activities we could take part in in the area. We sat on the porch and watched the river, the kids played croquet and "chilled out" in the living room watching old Sponge Bob episodes in the evening. (We don't have cable TV at home so this was a treat for them....even the older ones.) Every part of the trip was made special by the accommodations. And the review written about the comfortable beds were right on. We slept in absolute comfort. We are all looking forward to coming back again and my husband and I are entertaining the idea of an anniversary trip for just the two of us.
There are many great activities to take part in including Kent Falls down the road and a mining museum. There are restaurants and even some that deliver to the Amselhaus.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to come with family or just for a couple, I can not rate this place more enthusiastically. My only fear is as word gets around about this gem, we wont be able to book it."

"We had a wonderful 3-week stay at this great getaway in Sharon - plenty of space, nice layout, simple and elegant furnishings, beautiful view from the living room windows and close to Sharon, Millterton and several other places with good restaurants and activities. The yard was the perfect amount of space for our kids to play and Mudge Pond was a good low-key swimming spot nearby. The house was more than enough room for 6 people. The hosts were very accommodating and provided some good ideas for restaurants and activities nearby. We look forward to staying again in the future."

"We rented this house for a Galantines Day Weekend and loved it! We fell in love with the house immediately and I was not ready to leave when check-out time came on Sunday. This house is so warm, cozy and homey. I miss it. We are definitely recommending this house to friends and want to come back. I also felt like if I had brought my friend who has a few physical limitations she could have gotten into the house easily and stayed on the lower level without a problem."
