"We very much enjoyed the Branford house for a family gathering during the 2014 Yale commencement. We had 12 people coming from Colorado for it, and it was perfect. Plenty of room, and the backyard, with deck, bar-b-q, was great to have our daughter's friends and their parents over to celebrate. We were extremely happy with the manager who kept in touch with us, even though we made the reservation very early. Highly recommend it!"

"We have been staying in Kathy's home as we looked for a purchase in Greenwich. The house itself fit our needs perfectly, we have two daughters and the back yard has been their favorite place. Kathy has landscaped it with beautiful flowers and the lawn is in immaculate condition. There is also an outdoor fire place that we have roasted many marshmallows after using her grill to entertain along with a hammock and patio furniture.
Kathy has provided everything from towel to sheets to coffee to designer soaps. The three bedrooms were great for our family and the finished basement allowed us to have guests spend a few nights as well. We have taken advantage of the screened in back porch to have coffee each morning.
The location is fantastic as it is about 0.7 miles to Greenwich Ave and I have walked to the train each day. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a centrally located home in Greenwich that is kept in great condition."

"My husband and I and our four sons wanted some real family time before half of the kids jetted off to college. We explored a number of properties in western Connecticut. The innkeeper for the Amselhaus was incredibly friendly and communicative from the very start and we felt welcome before we even walked in the door. Once there, we felt instantly at home. I can honestly say I have never stepped into a vacation rental and felt as instantly at home and comfortable. We stayed in the north house which was perfect for our family. There were fresh cookies for all of us, coffee for the making in the morning, all the kitchen items one would need as well as a book of information about where we could eat out and activities we could take part in in the area. We sat on the porch and watched the river, the kids played croquet and "chilled out" in the living room watching old Sponge Bob episodes in the evening. (We don't have cable TV at home so this was a treat for them....even the older ones.) Every part of the trip was made special by the accommodations. And the review written about the comfortable beds were right on. We slept in absolute comfort. We are all looking forward to coming back again and my husband and I are entertaining the idea of an anniversary trip for just the two of us.
There are many great activities to take part in including Kent Falls down the road and a mining museum. There are restaurants and even some that deliver to the Amselhaus.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to come with family or just for a couple, I can not rate this place more enthusiastically. My only fear is as word gets around about this gem, we wont be able to book it."

"We had a wonderful time at this delightful riverside retreat thanks to our gracious hosts Bob, Ilsa and Tilda the sweet Lab mix. We enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it. It is a birder's paradise along the Patchouge River. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the river and salt marsh. The place has a real zen quality to it and is bound to leave you as happy and rested as it did us."
