"We were completely pleased with our stay. We wanted a place to celebrate the Christmas holiday near my elderly mom, with family members coming to stay together in the house. So we needed a place that would be special even when staying indoors a lot! It indeed was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, very clean, and we really enjoyed the colonial theme. And lovely to walk on the beach, cold though it was. The owners were very gracious and friendly."Guest: Leslie O. Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: March 8, 2014View listing
"The first time I stayed at this log cabin was last year for my 60th birthday during the worse storm CT has had in a long time. My family stayed and it was wonderful. After our stay in Feb. 2013, we all talked about going again in 2014. So we did. It was funny driving up the driveway with only a couple mounds of snow. We were so excited. Strangely, the Tuesday night we were there it snowed. Yes, snow on the ground and covering our cars. We just laughed. By the time we left, snow was gone. We had a lot of fun that week. It is such a comfortable place to stay. My son and his wife along with others went to visit a couple of wineries. We returned to Da Capo restaurant in Torrington which was not far from the cabin. Da Capo restaurant was SO good we went twice. Great family style option available. We had an Easter Egg Hunt for my two grandchildren and you might find a few eggs still there. It was fun sitting around, playing board games, relaxing and taking small walks or just enjoying the a nice fire in the evening. We sat by the pond and had a small fire. It was very comfortable, relaxing and we all enjoyed our time at the cabin. We just might go again next year."Guest: Shawn W. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 3, 2014View listing

Seasons to Visit Connecticut Vacation Rentals in Stonington
Because of its location on the Atlantic coastline of Connecticut, the most popular season to travel is during the warmer summer months. Stonington is a relatively sleepy town for most of the year and that is a large part of its charm. The town does get busier during the summer months of June and July when many families frequent the area as part of their summer vacations. As it is just a five-minute drive to the busy resort town of Mystic, many families may rent a cottage in Stonington and then head out during the day to explore the area's attractions. In the winter months, the weather can be chilly but if your ideal getaway involves beautiful scenery and cozying up on the couch in front of a fireplace then that will be a good time of year for you to visit Stonington.
