  • A top notch experience

"The cottage is pristine & well appointed. A 3 minute walk delivers you to a sandy beach with a tremendous view of the Bay. The entire area is as quiet as one might hope for when on vacation. Bicycling & walking within the area is safe and enjoyable. Kayaking is superb. I don't think it would be possible to find nicer people then Peter & Pat to rent from. I recommend this without reservation or hesitation."

  • Marvelous Mystic Get-away

"I have 5 sisters, each of us with individual needs and wants. We wanted to go somewhere close to drive too and shop and gamble all in one area. Mystic was our choice. Well this was a perfect set up for all of us. The elevator was a plus for my one sister who cannot really do stairs due to health issues. The kitchen was well equipped for the ones that enjoy cooking and the view was spectacular for those who enjoy looking at the seaport. The owner was very easy to talk to and very accommodating and always available. Every detail in this home was thought out, right down to the motion lights on all sets of stairs. Plenty of bathrooms, especially with 6 women in the house. Location also was a plus, very quiet and peaceful area."

  • A little slice of heaven

"My family loved the 'cottage' on the water. Views from every window were fabulous. The location is private and quiet, and quite spectacular. We chose the location because it was half way for both of our adult children (NYC and Boston) who joined us on weekends. During the weekdays we went site seeing and visited nearby seaport towns along the Ct. coast. Shopping was fabulous at the outlet malls (less than 10 miles away). Old Saybrook is a quiet, less touristy town than some of its neighbors, but has great restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and a great yarn store! This is also a dog friendly town with several groomers if that service is needed. But, what we enjoyed most was just relaxing at the cottage, enjoying the sunrise and sunsets on the water, and talking long walks along the coast. It was just what we needed after a difficult 8 mos. deployed overseas. The cottage itself has a very nice, up-to-date renovated and well outfitted kitchen and renovated baths, and is comfortably and casually furnished. There were plenty of linens and towels. Cleaning supplies were available, as well as food staples left by previous tenants for use, and we left behind our unused items (ie coffee/tea etc.) for the next group. I would highly recommend this rental. (Time of year - early April)"

  • Exceeded all expectations... which were high!

"Wonderful views of the Bay and lighthouse especially from the balcony of the master bedroom of this beachside survivor of the 1938 hurricane. The lovely accommodation is family traditional, well appointed and generous (6+ bedrooms). It absorbed our British daughters' wedding party of 10 happily with plenty of escape room. The attentive owners fixed any challenges and the breakfasts at Doreen's 'Broken Yolk' diner were humungous and memorable. Highly recommended in every way. White sands for the kids. Only wished we could have stayed longer."
