  • Beautiful home; beautiful views!

"We are from Missouri and met a NY daughter and a Boston son at this home for Easter weekend. The house needs a house number on the mailbox but once you've found it, it's all easy and feels likes a world away even though it is just off the "highway" between Mystic and Stonington. All the rooms are large and all the bedrooms have beautiful views. Even the bunking room, which could sleep at least 8 in twin beds, has a view because there are gorgeous views from the front and the back of the property. The main room is a combination kitchen, dining, living room and could entertain a large number of people. All doors from this GREAT room open onto a wonderful deck and an outdoor fireplace. There is a staging room off the kitchen too with an extra dishwasher, which we used after Easter dinner - another plus. Susan was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and we highly recommend Bravo Bravo as our favorite. Great drinks; great food; nice atmosphere; nice size. Much better than the popular oyster house across the street. We did both of the recommended hikes on Susan's list and loved them both. Very different too! We also bought seafood in Stonington and had the best chowder and scallops ever! It's low key here at this time of year. I'm sure it's quite busy in summer and Mystic is cute. There's one grocery store - but a pretty good one. Alcohol is not sold in grocery stores but there's a well-stocked liquor store a couple miles from the property. Relaxing. You might want to bring earplugs. We did go ahead and play with the thermostat just a bit because we thought the setting was too cool for us. The picturesque light house, viewable from the house in the sound, does have a regular warning horn and if you are a light sleeper, you might hear it at night without your plugs. Lovely, lovely place. So great that owners are sharing it! Thank you to Susan for generous hospitality!"

  • Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

"This home was perfect for our destination family gathering for Thanksgiving. The surrounding area is quiet and quite beautiful, even on cold, rainy November days. The home itself was even larger than the pictures indicated and easily accommodated our party of seven adults and one child. The inside furnishings are warm, welcoming and even a bit eclectic but overall you quickly felt quite at home. The very well appointed professional kitchen and high-end bathroom fixtures were added bonuses. We highly recommend this property to families looking to spend some quality time together........we hope to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future."

  • Beautiful Setting!

"This is such a beautiful property! The view is just unbelievable. Waking up in the morning and having a cup of tea on the porch was such a great way for me to start my wedding day! The house itself is very cute with a Brady Bunch vibe. Very kitch and original 1960s. We loved it! My bed was very comfortable and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. Before the visit Kathy was great at communicating with me though unfortunately had to leave town before our arrival. We were left in the capable hands of Lisa and she showed us around the property and explained how everything worked before leaving us to the peace and quiet of this lovely home. I would definitely come back here if I needed another weekend away with a large group. Thanks for everything!"

  • Lovely and very comfortable

"Every year for past 25 years my 4 sisters and I have gone away together to have a long weekend together. We stayed at this charming home And could not have been more pleased. Living room was so comfortable, beds are wonderful, master bath fantastic ,kitchen updated and plenty of room for all of us to be together preparing meals. We loved all the charming touches of many built in shelves and cabinets. Second full bath near kitchen came in very handy. The bedroom with curtain, which is much larger than it appears in picture, with large closet and door to patio was such a hit we had to draw straws to see who would be the lucky one to call it their own for weekend. Overall we wish we had more time to spend there. I would definitely return. Owner was very easy to work with and even had a bottle of wine for us from a nearby vinyard."
