  • Great condo, great location

"We had a great stay in Dewey Villas. The condo is very nice and clean and the location can't be beat. Rebecca was very helpful in helping us set up a last-minute, mid week rental. We were there during off season so unfortunately many of the bars and restaurants in Dewey were closed, but it is just a quick bike/trolley/car ride to Rehobeth. I would highly recommend staying here for your next trip to Dewey!"

  • Great cottage in quiet area of Dewey Beach

"My wife, my 20 month old son, and I stayed at this cottage during the week of July 4th 2014. We had a great time and couldn't have been happier with our stay. We knew we were staying during a very busy holiday week, but we wanted to stay in an area that was relatively quiet in or around Rehoboth Beach. North Dewey beach and this cottage were perfect and we found the location to be incredibly convenient.Only about 5 houses from the beach entrance, and no party or college crowds nearby. But if we walked about 5-6 block south, we could go to many restaurants, bars, convenience stores, liquor stores, and playgrounds. There is even a farmer's market about 2 blocks west. If we took a 20 minute walk north around the lake, we would end up on the south end of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk (we like to walk and run a lot so it didn't bother us at all, however the walk can seem a little dangerous at night with the cars driving passed). The house was a great size for us. Enough space for our son to play, but not too much where we can't keep an eye on him wherever he goes. They also have boxes filled with toys and games for kids already in the house. We spent all morning at the beach, late afternoon on the front porch, evenings on the town to eat dinner, and then all night on the back porch. The only complaint I had was that bathtub did not have a rubber mat or traction pads, so we had to be extremely careful when showering or giving our son a bath. There were a few times we almost fell and could have gotten very hurt. A very small and cheap fix that should be taken care of. We had a great vacation here and my wife says she wants to come back to the cottage (this is coming from a person who doesn't like renting a place more than once). It is an awesome place for couples and small families."

  • Great family reunion location

"I had my entire extended family stay here for a week of beach fun. The crew included 7 children between 6 and 12 years old. There was plenty of room for everyone and the layout was great. On the plus side, the condo is right in the middle of all the Dewey excitement, within a few blocks of all the great restaurants, bars, and stores. On the double plus side, it was perfectly quiet, just far enough away from the bar scenes so as not to be disturbed. By far the best part was the proximity to the beach. 50 yards from the front door and you are on the beach, with no busy streets to cross. The kids could go back and forth without dragging the adults along. The loft was hot, but 3 girls slept up there all week with a fan and zero complaints. There was great access to free paddle board and kayak rentals which we used almost every day. The one downside--we had to bring our own linens and towels, but that was a small thing. We will be back!"

Dewey Beach Travel Tips

Dewey Beach for Spring Break

Since 1981, Dewey Beach, Delaware has been considered a town only for Spring Break. It developed a reputation for being a wild “party town” not unlike Panama City Beach vacations or Cancun, though it lacks the tropical elements of these other locations. Despite being less tropical, Dewey Beach has much to offer the vacationer. You do not have to rent Dewey Beach vacation rentals to be with the Spring Break crowd. Instead, throughout the year families and couples travel to Dewey Beach for the beauty, attractions and small community that await them. With Dewey Beach condos, you have all the amenities you could want, such as a kitchen, deck, and views of the sunrise each morning. There are about 300 residents throughout the year, whereas in summer, there are 30,000 on the small strip of island between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay.

Find a Seasonal Dewey Beach Accommodation for Families and College Students

Dewey Beach’s reputation for being a party town has grown over the last 30 years. It is the place to go if one is on a budget or does not wish to travel far from New England schools. In fact with its location in Delaware, it is perfect for all New England residents to visit. A Dewey Beach accommodation will range from Dewey Beach vacation rentals to Dewey Beach condos. There is a set-up for every budget whether one looks for a 10-person house or something on a smaller scale. Many will rent one very large space to house many couples just for the enjoyments offered at Dewey Beach.

Water Sports and Other Recreation on Dewey’s One Mile

There are two things vacationers find to do in Dewey Beach that cannot be missed. The first is golfing at Baywood Greens. Baywood Greens is in Long Neck, which is 16 miles from Dewey. It is a championship course with manicured Woodside and Waterside nines and more than 27 acres of ponds. Golfing also includes Bear Trap Dunes, Bethany Bay, Golf Park at Rehoboth, and Heritage Inn Golf Club.

The second delight found nearby is sailing. The water temperatures are such that only in summer will one find swimming enjoyable. During the rest of the year and in summer, sailing is a delightful pastime. Sailors can head out in the Atlantic Ocean watching for whales, dolphins, and marine fish. They can also look from land to spot some of these marine animals and participate in bird-watching. Surfing along the coast is possible, even though the temperatures can be a bit cooler than in the tropics.

Where to Dine at Dewey Beach

Your Dewey Beach accommodation will cater dining in with a fully equipped kitchen but if you find a meal out is necessary, have no fear. There are numerous restaurants within driving distance of your hotel or condo. Gary’s Surf and Spray, Grotto Pizza, Starboard Restaurant, Theo’s, and Wings to Go are just a few we can name. You will find the cuisine offered is full of fresh fish and seafood, steaks, pizza, and all the college student’s favorites. Healthy eating is also possible at places like the Salad Factory. One will not be lacking in nightlife, bars, or restaurants when at Dewey Beach.

Dewey Beach, Delaware for Shoppers

As a coastal residence and one based on the tourist trade, it comes as no surprise that shopping is an important part of Dewey Beach. Dewey Beach Market should be on your list of first places to shop for amenities. With your location at Dewey Beach vacation rentals, stocking up on supplies for the kitchen will help you prepare those picnics you desire on the beach. They offer a wide selection of groceries and cold drinks in a friendly and clean environment.

East of Maui will be your stop for surfing and entertainment. East of Maui is the local surf shop, found near the sandy shores. They offer surfing, snorkeling, and diving equipment at the shop. You can even rent kayaks to head out into the ocean with. So, whether you look for lessons in surfing or a little recreation, East of Maui is your stop.

The Sea Shell Shop is a place to go even if you are not looking for a souvenir. There is a little tour you can go on to look out at the ocean, as well as a complete treasure shop where you can find knick-knacks to remind you of your vacation.
