  • A Perfect Family Retreat

"This house is a true gem. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were "home." The house is inviting and bright, and the floor plan is great for a family. You can see into the breakfast/playroom from the sink in the kitchen, and the living room opens to the playroom as well. The one-level living makes it ideal for families with small children. Our family of four stayed here with my parents and we all had plenty of room. From the outdoor shower to the laundry facilities, cookware, outdoor dining space, breakfast room, board games...everything we wanted was at our disposal. My son was particularly happy to find that not only were there train tracks with trains...but the coveted Thomas and James trains were part of the set. Though the house is within walking distance from the beach, we drove most days. We parked on St. Lawrence in the closest spot to the beach every morning with no problem. The house is situated on a quiet street with no outlet, and my boys (4 and 2) had a blast riding their bikes through the neighborhood. The streets are all even and flat so they could ride to their hearts' content. We enjoyed the Oyster House and Papa Grande for restaurants. I also recommend Browse-About Books -- a one-of-a-kind bookstore, toy store, and home goods store. We were there during Superhero Week and enjoyed a fantastic story time and character visits. We had no issues during our stay, but I have no doubt Patti would have responded immediately if we needed her. She was incredibly helpful from the moment we sent our first inquiry to the week before our stay. You can tell this is a special place -- we're lucky to have been able to share it."

  • This is a place we would love to go back when going to Rehoboth

"Our family spent a wonderful week at Rehoboth Beach and being at this condo made all the difference. The location is absolutely perfect: you can walk or bike everywhere in downtown Rehoboth. The condo is in a quiet residential area so you have all the convenience of a great location without the noise and the congestion. If you want to take your car one day you can use the parking pass that is provided. The owners are really nice and the renting process was easy and straight forward. We got our deposit back less than a week after we left the place. The condo is very comfortable, it has lots of light, a nice view of the neighborhood and feels big. It has new wooden floors on the living room area ( including dinning room and kitchen) and new carpet on the stairs. Other areas, including the bathroom, are not renovated but work pretty good. It's important to remember to bring your own bedding and towels as expected. It does not hurt to bring some blankets and a bath rug as well if you think you are going to need them. We would love to go back to this place when going to Rehoboth and we we will recommend it to other families."

  • Good value and location

"The house has a homey atmosphere and is fine for families who are happy for togetherness. Bedrooms are small but adequate. Amenities were good, kitchen well-equipped (except for larger soup/cereal bowls). No dishwasher. Grill worked well, TV, and Wi-Fi. Proximity to restaurants and the beach is a great plus, and lovely playgrounds within walkable distance for young children. The back yard has trees and a nice enclosed feeling to it for outdoor eating."

  • Perfect Vacation Spot

"Great family vacation home. Close to town, the beaches, a pool, playgrounds, and activities for all ages. Perfect kitchen for home cooked meals and cleanup. If you are interested in eating out, there are a variety of restaurants and cafes with different cuisines and costs within walking distance. This home is in a quite, secure community, so its easy to sleep after a full day of fun. The owners are available for questions and have provided everything for a most enjoyable vacation."

Rehoboth Beach Travel Tips

Rehoboth Beach is a little beachside town in Delaware’s Cape Region. It’s known as a more relaxed locale compared to nearby beach spots like Ocean City and the Jersey Shore. It also has one of the best boardwalks in the country. Here are some tips for enjoying your Rehoboth beach holiday:

Nature

There’s plenty of fun to be had outdoors in this quaint, rural area, including:

- Hitting up busy Rehoboth Beach for some fun in the sun and sand.

- Taking a walk or bike ride on the trails and then scavenging for shells on the impossibly peaceful six-mile coastline of Delaware Seashore State Park.

- Ambling about in Cape Henlopen State Park and Seashore Center, a 4,000-acre playground where you can hike, bike, fish and even climb an old World War II tower to see the land from above.

Just for Kids

Even though Rehoboth Beach is adult-friendly, there are multitudinous activities to help the kids feel right at home. Head to Funland, circa 1962, for fun rides and an arcade for both families and kids. In the summer, have fun at Jungle Jim’s, a water park that also has bumper boats, go-carts and a really great cafe. You can take the kids to play miniature golf at Shell We Golf or Ryan’s Mini Golf, take surf lessons at Rehoboth Beach Boarding School or rent bikes from Atlantic Cycles to bike along the beach. The best places to take the kids for a treat are Snyder’s Candy and the famous Kohr Bros. for frozen custard.

Just for Adults

Though Rehoboth Beach is a popular spot for families, there are plenty of things to do here for adults as well.

Libations

Rehoboth Beach is the home of Dogfish Head Brewery, a staple in the world of craft beer. You can take a free tour of the microbrewery in Milton - just make sure to reserve your spot ahead of time! Otherwise, enjoy some laid-back fare and good beers at the Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats on Rehoboth Avenue in the downtown area.

Another excellent option is Nassau Valley Vineyard - the first and largest winery in Delaware. It’s located in Lewes, which is just a 20-minute drive inland from Rehoboth Beach. Bring a picnic lunch and take a self-guided tour of the vineyards and history of wine museum, and enjoy a tasting at this quaint farm winery. They specialize in dry wines like pinot grigio, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay.

Relaxation

Take advantage of Rehoboth Beach’s wonderful spas, including The Bellmoor Spa, Avenue Apothecary & Spa and One Spirit Massage Studio. You can take SUP lessons at the harbor. You can also go golfing and spend the morning at the farmers market for a nice stroll to see the city’s local flavors.

Festivals

Rehoboth Beach has some excellent annual festivals each year. One of the best is the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival, which has been held for one week each November since 1998. Attendees can see nearly 100 independent films, including shorts, documentaries and feature films. There are also seminars, a children’s cinema corner and even celebrity guests.

Another wonderful yearly fest is the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, a four-day live music event that has been held here for a quarter of a century. The event attracts renowned musicians and eager jazz enthusiasts from around the world. There are three stages and many local restaurants also feature live music during the festival.

One of the most fun events for the whole family is the Sea Witch Festival - a massive Halloween-themed street festival held on Rehoboth Avenue each year at the end of October. This wildly exciting festival features a costume parade with prizes, face-painting, pony rides, a monster mash, spooky films, make-your-own-scarecrow activities, tasty treats and so many more fun events and crafts. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit for a scary good time!
