  • Great house, but not accessible

"Generally, the beach house was great, but the accessibility was not. The house was listed as accessible, but none of the bathroom doorways were wide enough to accomodate a walker or wheelchair. Bathrooms didn't have grab bars either. The elevator was very tempermental. I don't think the owner realized that having an elevator is not sufficient, and is planning to reconsider listing the property as accessible. Otherwise, the house was great! Very convenient to both beach and bay!!! Crossing Route 1, even with little kids and a wheelchair, was not a problem. The location is also convenient to Bethany, Fenwick, and Ocean City by car or bike (there are bikes in the garage, but they have seen better days). The house itself is very nice! Lots of light. Lots of stairs. Lots of beach artwork. :) The master bathroom is amazing - huge shower, jacuzzi tub, double sinks! We want a bathroom like that at home!! The only catch is the people staying in the other bedroom on that floor have to walk through the master bedroom to access the bathroom. The den was a huge plus as well. We used it as the kids' bedroom. They loved it and didn't want to move to a bedroom when one became available. I would recommend adding curtains/blinds for the glass doors so you can block the light from the dining room as desired. The pool was another huge plus of this property. Beach, pool, jacuzzi. Beach, pool, jacuzzi. Loved it! A word of warning about the beach because I was a little shocked when we first arrived. The beach at this location does not have lifeguards and there are vehicles driving on the beach. At first I was rather disturbed by the vehicles, but it turned out to be more of an aesthetic issue than a safety issue. If you want a lifeguard, you can go to the State Park, which is a 2 minute drive away. Last, but not least, I challenge future visitors to complete the ladybug puzzle. My daughter pulled it out right when we arrived and it took us almost the entire week to complete it."

  • Excellent location for a family beach vacation

"Our three-generation family found this townhome answered our every need. We loved being so close to the beach. The way the bedrooms are set up, everyone had a quiet, private place, while one floor was our communal living area. Our daughter-in-law made a couple trips to a grocery close by in the car, and we drove to one restaurant for a family dinner, but my husband and I parked our car on the Saturday of our arrival and didn't start it again until we left the following Saturday. To me this is the definition of a great beach vacation. We hope to return to this same location next summer."

  • Family Vacation

"This review is different than most reviews. We were unable to stay at the beach house due to a family health situation. In speaking with Dot, the owner, she was very understanding and compassionate about our circumstances. Her kindness led to a solution that was amicable to both of us. Thank you Dot for helping to make a difficult time easier. It's nice to know that there are people like you out there."

  • Great Vacation Home

"Large, three generation family, including 16 month old and water loving dog enjoyed a wonderful week long vacation. Home was exactly as described. Bedrooms on each floor afforded a lot of privacy. Beach was easily accessible and not crowded. Owner was great, and very responsive. When we were not on the beach, we spent many hours enjoying the beautiful screened-in porch and decks. Beautiful sunsets off front of deck. Boardwalks and restaurants were a short drive away down the coastal highway. Really nice place to vacation for those of us who enjoy relaxation."
