  • Excellent business base for driving-in to DC.

"Driving-in is feasible now. Use the car as a giant suitcase. This enables you to bring your entire office with you, and set it up a mile from the Capitol. You can see the congressional schedulers in person to set up the meetings. Besides, with driving and waiting at airports it's the travel time. Very comfy. Note: Be sure to request of the owner a 3-day street parking pass. Not a claim on a space, but protects your vehicle wherever you can find a space nearby. Also don't miss the East Market. It is a perfect grocery stop in easy walking distance. When connecting to the Wi-Fi, even though a no-connect message may appear, ignore it for a while. Connection will occur in a few minutes by itself."

  • Near metro

"The apartment was very clean and only 1 block from the metro. We did not rent a car for our stay and found traveling in DC very easy. The apartment is very small and can barely accomadate 3 people. Would recommend 2 adults and maybe a small child. We enjoyed several restaurants in the neighborhood within walking distance. Security was very good and we felt safe in the neighborhood."

  • Like staying at a friend's house!

"My family of four (husband, me, 2 college-age children) stayed at Adam's place over the July 4th week, and we never stopped. So coming back to a homey, very comfortable rental with everything we needed and more was fantastic. There is so much room in the house (3 bedrooms, plus 2 large couches downstairs - oh, and 3 full baths. You can't beat that!), and it was really nice to spend time relaxing with the entire family at night after a very busy day on our feet. Adam was the best part. He was reachable any time of day, and so very welcoming. He knows DC like the back of his hand and is very handy with advice about transportation, shopping, eating, etc. We even had a repair problem while we were there (our fault), and Adam had the problem fixed before we came back that evening. My son also left an important book behind, and Adam is sending it to us this weekend. As far as getting in and out of DC -- Adam can direct you via the bus, but we just chose to drive our car to the Metro, which is within a few miles from the house. There is plenty of parking, and there is staff onsite to assist you with tickets. Also, we really liked Silver Spring for dinners, which is a 5-minute drive away, and offers a very family-friendly community square with plenty of restaurants and a movie theater, plus a little shopping (DSW, H&M to mention a few). I would highly recommend Adam's house. Thanks Adam! Sara"

  • A lovely apartment

"I stayed in the upstairs apartment with my two young adult daughters for four nights. The apartment was light, airy and spacious. The main bedroom was really large with windows on two sides, and lots of mirrors: a really bright and comfortable room, with masses of storage. The kitchen was excellently equipped, with the bonus of supplies like olive oil, t bags etc. This really helps when you're somewhere for only a few days. The whole apartment was like a home from home, with wifi, loads of interesting books in the hallway and plenty of comfortable space to relax. The Capitol area was a 30 minute walk, through very pleasant suburban streets, teeming with runners, families, cyclists, professional people. It all seemed very safe. 8th street shops and restaurants were about a 20 minute walk away. Jo was enormously helpful. It was so easy to access the apartment, and she was on hand for questions etc. A most generous host."
