  • Very Satisfied

"Our studio apartment was exactly as described, in a lovely neighborhood very near to the Columbia Heights metro. Our bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. One does have to walk up three flights of stairs. It was no problem, but I mention it in case that is a consideration for some guests. All in all, we would definitely stay here again if in the neighborhood."

  • Perfect Family Getaway!

"I can't say enough positive things about our stay in this location. My family (including 3 kids and 3 dogs) loved every moment we spent at our "home away from home" and everyone was very comfortable. Since there were 2 futons in the living room, we put a teenager on each one, moved the coffee table aside for a blow-up mattress for our preteen, and my husband and I each had our own bedroom - very unusual for us, but I admit I slept like a baby the whole week. The bathrooms were more spacious than anything we have at our own house, and the half-bath was very convenient, especially when we first walked in after a day touring the town! Also, we were very confident that our car was safe because of the fenced in/locked backyard. Talk about a great location! The grocery store was only 2 blocks away, making it very easy to walk to. Tons of great restaurants were in the neighborhood (I HIGHLY recommend the tiny little Ecuadorian/Southern Mexican place about a block south on 11th!!) And we were easily able to pack some bottles of water and snacks every morning to walk downtown for sightseeing purposes. Nothing was out of reach by our own foot power, allowing us a chance to see the city in a whole new way. Rather than drive past shops, we could browse and enjoy the uniqueness of each neighborhood we went through. Our dogs weren't overly thrilled about the hardwood floors because their feet kept slipping, but they eventually got used to them and managed just fine. They did, however, adore the fenced in backyard and the back porch. They are all Chihuahuas and rarely go outside at home, but they thoroughly enjoyed laying outside in the sun while we planned our day or relaxed in the evening. Not only was everything clean and in great order for our arrival, but Rachel was wonderful about helping with the one situation that arose (the internet connection was out and she was able to fix that within minutes). She was very accommodating and friendly, and she really knows how to make a place feel like home to her guests. I loved the stockpile of pillows, blankets, sheets and towels in the master bedroom closet! There may be less expensive places to stay in D.C. but (in my opinion) you tend to get what you pay for. In this case, my family and I are glad we opted for this rental!"

  • A Gem!

"D.C. is a favorite destination of mine, so I'm already a bit prejudiced. But, I must say, that this townhouse was a real find. Our reason for being in D.C., was for our son's wedding. We shared the space with two other family members, and it was just fabulous. Everyone had their own space to be by themselves. Yet, there was great space to share a meal and even to put together 32 flower arrangements for the reception! The location couldn't have been better. Ask me how many times we had take-out from Pret a Mange at Union Station. Loved it."

  • Fabulous apartment in an excellent location

"My husband and I had spent a week in New York and arrived by train to this wonderful apartment and stayed for 8 nights. We were greeted by our host, who gave us all the information we needed on supermarkets and how to get around Washington, including getting a Smartrip card which was well worth it. It was easy to get around by metro (the nearest station is 5 minutes away) or the circulator bus and we could use the card on both. Most of the attractions were within walking distance for us so we covered a lot of ground on foot. We also visited Georgetown and Alexandria, both of which are beautiful and well worth a visit if you have the time. The apartment was immaculate, very clean, the bed was so comfortable, the linens beautiful and the apartment as a whole had everything we needed. The listing was accurate and the apartment was even better than the photographs portrayed. It was very quiet at night and felt a very safe area so there were no problems coming home later in the evening. There were many restaurants within walking distance and our favourite was the Casa Luca 1099 New York Ave NW - about 10 minutes walk away. The service and food were excellent. Our host was really helpful during our stay and even gave us details on how to get to Dulles Airport on our return, writing out instructions and the times of the buses to get there and how long to allow for the journey. We got to the airport in good time for our flight We would definitely stay in the apartment again if we return to Washington, which was a lovely City clean and friendly and very relaxed. Many thanks again to our hosts, you have a beautiful home. Rosemary and Graham"
