  • Great spot for DC vacation

"We really enjoyed the apartment. It was clean and spacious. Lots of towels in the bathroom. The pullout couch doesn't work and the air mattress had a hole, so check with the owner before you book it if you need extra space. The neighborhood is in transition but felt safe. H Street is a hip new area with lots of food options. Residents suggested we not walk from Union Station at night. The owner got us an on-street parking permit since our car was too big to fit in the small driveway. Nice outdoor eating area on the back porch for breakfast. 20 minute walk to the capital along Maryland Avenue."

  • The Hill House directly east of the Capitol building

"This is a very nice place. The owner is so sweet! The place is beautiful. It looks like an interior decorator did this. We had a couple small rare repair issues that were taken care of immediately. it's just a short hike to the subway. The Safeway grocery store was on the way. I wouldn't use that grocery store during rush hour because they don't give any extra cashiers. Overall, We will stay here again if we come back to DC."

  • Great location! Wonderful town home!

"Three of us (retired adult women) stayed at this clean, comfortable, well-furnished town home during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The location was just great for accessing the Stadium-Armory Metro, the local Safeway and the many restaurants near the Eastern Market Metro stop. While we usually ate only breakfast at the house, the kitchen was well-furnished and cooking more elaborate meals would have been possible. Since all of us are older and have more aches and pains than we used to, the quality of the beds was important to us. All three of the beds we used were quite comfortable, not too hard and not too soft with decent linens as well. The unit has basic cable which was adequate for our needs, but more importantly, wifi was included which was extremely helpful. The layout of the house was great with the living room, kitchen, dining area and powder room on the main floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms and full bath along with a washer and dryer. We were grateful for the washer/dryer since it meant we could pack a little lighter and do some laundry during our stay. We were very happy with this rental, but would advise anyone who has any mobility issues that the entryway to the house includes several stairs and that the stairs to the upstairs are somewhat steep as is common in homes of this vintage. You will find several Metro stops within .5-1.0 miles which allows you to access many, many of the attractions and museums in the Washington, DC area. If you need a taxi, those are easy to find as well. We would certainly return to this unit in the future."

  • Great Accomodations!

"We just returned from a week in DC. This apartment is just as listed - a wonderful home away from home. It is in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood away from the bustling city but close enough to be convenient. Something we didn't initially think about but is a bonus with this home is that it is on a corner lot so there are windows on 3 sides to allow natural light to come in, as well as more yard space than most of the homes in the area. The bikes that Jo provides are great - we used them everyday to get to the National Mall, museums and train stations. That definitely saved us a lot of time and expense. The queen sized bed is super comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and the living room furniture was great too! And it was so nice having the washer and dryer right in the apartment to use (free of charge!!). We ate several meals at home and used the grill a few evenings - it worked great and helped us save a bit of money. The parking pass was really nice - we only had one instance of having difficulty finding a place to park near the apartment, and even that time, we ended up parking only a couple blocks away. If there was anything that would make this home even more pleasant, it would be a screened front door to allow fresh air in on a nice day. If we would return to DC, we would definitely stay here again. By the way, be sure to take the Old Town Trolley "Monuments by Moonlight" tour - it is fantastic!!"
