  • Washington, DC getaway

"This condo lived up to everything that was advertised. It was perfect for our family with adult children. Everyone had their own space and we didn't have to share bathrooms which is always a plus. Close to restaurants, grocery store and the metro. Would highly recommended this location and condo."

  • Very Satisfied

"Our studio apartment was exactly as described, in a lovely neighborhood very near to the Columbia Heights metro. Our bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. One does have to walk up three flights of stairs. It was no problem, but I mention it in case that is a consideration for some guests. All in all, we would definitely stay here again if in the neighborhood."

  • Great stay

"This was a really nice place to stay for our long weekend seeing friends get married in DC. really affordable price that was much appreciated. Everything was clean and ready for us as described. There was toilet paper, enough utensils, knives, pots etc for light cooking. Great grocery store and anything else needed on 14th st. We cooked, used the dishwasher, even had time to enjoy the in house laundry machine! Upstairs neighbor made a lot of noise at night. (Yoga? Jogging in place? Rearranging furniture?) but we used earplugs and it wasn't a problem and never lasted past 10 or 11. Only thing I'd note that I didn't see anyone else mention has nothing to do with the accommodations. The neighborhood appears to be going through a major flux due to the gentrification going on in Columbia Heights and surrounding areas. We did not feel unsafe at any time but we did receive hostile looks when walking around and noticed that the luxury restaurants over on 11th really stand out, especially if you walk a few blocks further east (we went over to Georgia ave on Sunday morning to check out a recommended coffee shop...whoa. Guy in deli was threatening the cashier and saying he would take us all hostage and blood would be spilt because he didn't want to pay the plastic bag tax. When we left that deli, another woman was arrested before our eyes a block away.) This kind of hard line between wealth and poverty is going on in all the big american cities right now obviously, so it's nothing new for most of us; but good to be aware what kind of vibe you are stepping into and to act accordingly with your best manners and conscientious behavior so as not to stir things up any further. There is definitely a lot of history in this area."

  • Awesome Getaway! Awesome Apartment!

"We could not have asked for a better situation for our family of 5. We were so comfortable in this home and it was very convenient to Metro and Giant Supermarket. We toured all of the attractions by Metro and even jumped on the Old Town Trolley tour and took in all the sights there were to see and returned to this cozy home and prepared simple dinners in the very lovely, full equipped kitchen at the end of each day. Lois Houston, the property manager, was the BEST and right on target with her recommendations of this apartment and with her advice for our travels through the area. She was gracious and accommodating in every way. The parking is a little tricky as pointed out in the other reviews. After the first day, we just parked our car in the U- Street Parking Garage by the Target Mall around the corner and for a mere $20 per day, left our car there for the balance of our trip. We took the Metro everywhere and didn't have to think twice about figuring out the street parking situation, a small, worthwhile daily investment that I would highly recommend."
