"My husband and I spent a week in this apartment. All logistics went perfectly and all expected amenities were provided and of good quality. Columbia Heights is an energized neighborhood with all the stores and restaurants in a few block radius."

"Great place that gives you the feel of living in DC Capital Hill area. Coming from the Southwest, this was unique to us and beat a hotel with five of us. We had plenty of room for the family and the property is well equipped, very clean, and modern decor. Wifi was strong, neighborhood was friendly, and we were close to the US Capital, Library of Congress, and US Supreme Court...all on our list of "must see" for this trip. Enjoyed being able to stroll down to see the 8 p.m. military band perform on the steps of the Capital while the sun set behind the Washington Monument. Really appreciated the parking permit dropped off promptly, and is a MUST if you are renting a car. The parking, however, is very limited and be prepared to look around for a bit for a space. Still, some easy drop off, pick up areas and always found spaces none beyond a block. Also, good thing my wife read the bit about moving the car on street sweeping day. Streets in DC were a bit difficult to navigate for us, and if you are heading down the National Mall or to the White House, I recommend public transport or the Capital Bike Share. Still, so many things to see along the way, that our family (wife/myself and two teens) walked the entire way with one quick on and off a bus... the advice to wear good walking shoes is no joke. If you plan on seeing the monuments on the west side, definitely take transport. 7-11 just nearby for quick stock up, but no gas. Be sure to arrange a Capital Tour with your State Senator's or Representative's office at least 3 weeks in advance to avoid the long lines and get a more personal tour. Bit of a moth ball smell when first entering the property, but noticed no bugs at all, so must be doing the job. Air conditioning was spot on and controls are very simple to use and respond quickly. Great to have three restrooms and all pristine."

"This was a beautiful home and a great location. It was about a block from Union station. There's a gourmet supermarket at the end of the block in a general supermarket just a block and a half away. They're all kinds of places to eat and it is a beautiful rowhouse and a safe neighborhood. The decor is beautiful and classic and the house is spotless. The home is a shotgun style and still has tons of character even though it is completely updated with a great back porch. The parking was no problem at all the farthest we had to park was I half a block away. The owner was very nice and even went out of his way to return to an important item we left on accident. this is a great place to stay and reminds me why we I use VRBO. Stop shopping and book now. You won't be disappointed."

"We stayed at the rectory for a week with our grandsons ranging from 7 to 15, our son and daughter and their spouses in connection with the celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. All agree that the house was just perfect for our stay. The kitchen is very generously equipped with super appliances and large selection of cooking and eating utensils and a large dinning room allowed all of us to sit down for evening meals. Rest of house had comfortable beds and furniture. Paul came immediately when I thought the kitchen sink garbage disposal was broken; it wasn't, but just so quiet, I thought it must be. Kids loved the several gargoyles here and there. Location and public transportation couldn't be better: buses on every corner; metro easy walk. We parked our cars and never used them. With help of son, I managed to get my full sized sedan in the narrow parking space in the rear of house, where it stayed. Grocery stories and restaurants easy walking distance. Younger folk had no trouble walking to the Mall museums, capitol, supreme court, archives, and on and on. One night my daughter had several old high school friends for a reunion. I know from experience these girls are given to loud talk and laughter after not having seen each other for a while. But the house is so solid, with thick walls, I couldn't hear a thing when I went to bed in the MBR just above them. Finally, the kids loved all the rooms and stairs and generous space every where to roam and relax; especially enjoyable was the rooftop. The property couldn't be better designed and located for a large family visiting our capital."
