"Was in town for the cherry blossom festival and initially decided to try this VRBO due to the hotel prices being elevated with the festival. It ended up being a good decision for multiple reasons. I always love having a kitchen when I'm traveling solo so I don't have to go out to eat for every meal. Though small, it had everything I needed for preparing some meals--even a shopping bag to use at the nearby Trader Joe's. The apartment was clean with a comfortable bed. I liked the "pure organic" towels so much that I tried to find where I could buy them for home. There is a little outside patio with a grill and nice big washer/dryer there in the basement if you need to do laundry. Like others have said, though it is a basement apt there were plenty of windows and light. I particularly loved the neighborhood. Many people out and about, visiting, walking dogs, eating on patios in the area. Lots of restaurants to choose from--the tacos at the taqueria two doors down are quite tasty and the carmelitas at the Bakehouse are yummy. The U St Metro station is very close and you can get all around the city easily on that. The Dupont Circle area (which also has a Metro station) is a slightly longer walk away but still less than a mile through nice neighborhoods and by a cute dog park on S Street. I appreciated the DC travel books that were on the bookshelf and there is a notebook there that tells how to work the remote to the TV. Eva was very helpful in responding to emails with any questions I had! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone I knew!
Tips: Take an umbrella if any rain expected during your stay because the closest one to buy is several blocks away. Also, probably common sense but I struggled with it for a minute--the lockbox for the keys has a black button which releases the keys when you put the right code in, it doesn't open from the part that is hooked onto the railing which is what I kept trying to make it do:)"

"The cost savings of a twelve-night stay in Roger's Boston House Condo instead of a hotel, was well worth it. He was always very prompt and complete in his communication with us. The proximity to two metro stations and walk-able grocery and drug stores was very convenient. Concierge staff were cordial and the interior temperature was easily regulated in the humid weather. Travelers should be advised that many other guests have left toiletries, sundries, and unopened food items. Take a quick check around the unit before spending additional funds on these necessities."

"Family work/vacation week: Grandparents, myself and my preteen daughter rented this historical brownstone for a week while I worked in the city. The flat was comfortable and most importantly conviently located to all of the great restuarants in Dupont Circle. Being a young hippster 40+ something I understood the design decor, but the granddparents did struggle with the european bed heights...but really not a big deal. The owners were always reachable and very gracious and the neighborhood was quaint and quiet. We walked to many local eateries and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Remember this is a private residence, so bring any extra's hairdryers, ammenities with you. Absolutly used the washer/dryer after the week as we continued onto the Cape for the next week."
