"My family and I stayed at this mansion for 6 days and 5 nights. It was a small family reunion. The ages ranged from 6 months to 75 yrs old. There are quite a few stairs. It's great exercise, but if there is someone who really can't do stairs, there would be an issue. Other than that, we LOVED our stay at the mansion. We were able to eat breakfast and dinner together each day at the house while we were out and about during the day. It's centrally located and comfortable. On the last day, Grandpa just stayed at the house and didn't see any sights. Having the house helped up visit better and cut down on travel and dining costs in the city. I highly recommend staying there."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean, beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The back of the apartment on both levels looks out on a patio with bamboo that is really a lovely peaceful surprise in an urban setting. The hosts were responsive and helpful, getting us a temporary parking pass and checking-in to make sure we arrived and were comfortable."

"We loved having this apartment close to the metro station. The grocery store nearby and playpen for our toddler was a great thing for our family. Ben's Chili Bowl and Ted's Bulletin are DC staples and were extremely close by. The check in process was extremely easy. The check out process and details on what to do need to be resent to the renter the previous day."

"Was in town for the cherry blossom festival and initially decided to try this VRBO due to the hotel prices being elevated with the festival. It ended up being a good decision for multiple reasons. I always love having a kitchen when I'm traveling solo so I don't have to go out to eat for every meal. Though small, it had everything I needed for preparing some meals--even a shopping bag to use at the nearby Trader Joe's. The apartment was clean with a comfortable bed. I liked the "pure organic" towels so much that I tried to find where I could buy them for home. There is a little outside patio with a grill and nice big washer/dryer there in the basement if you need to do laundry. Like others have said, though it is a basement apt there were plenty of windows and light. I particularly loved the neighborhood. Many people out and about, visiting, walking dogs, eating on patios in the area. Lots of restaurants to choose from--the tacos at the taqueria two doors down are quite tasty and the carmelitas at the Bakehouse are yummy. The U St Metro station is very close and you can get all around the city easily on that. The Dupont Circle area (which also has a Metro station) is a slightly longer walk away but still less than a mile through nice neighborhoods and by a cute dog park on S Street. I appreciated the DC travel books that were on the bookshelf and there is a notebook there that tells how to work the remote to the TV. Eva was very helpful in responding to emails with any questions I had! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone I knew!
Tips: Take an umbrella if any rain expected during your stay because the closest one to buy is several blocks away. Also, probably common sense but I struggled with it for a minute--the lockbox for the keys has a black button which releases the keys when you put the right code in, it doesn't open from the part that is hooked onto the railing which is what I kept trying to make it do:)"
