  • Everything was great!

"Me and my family (5) had a great time in DC and the apartment was perfect for us, close to the subway station, U street, bars and restaurants. The condo is very nice. The bed is super comfortable, the sleeping sofa not so much, but the air mattress and the rolling bed are comfortable too. The kitchen has everything that you need to cook. The internet connection is very slow, but this is minor issue, when you are on vacations. We will definitely stay here again."

  • Number Ten Location!

"This was our second trip to DC so we knew the Eastern Market Capitol Hill area BUT we were so amazed by this wonderful And convenient location to the Metro, restaurants and stores. This is a delightful apartment in a lovely neighborhood. Kirk provided many resources for the area, a parking permit for the one night we still had the car (no need for car at all, but had not returned it on arrival). The apartment is comfortably and tastefully furnished, let alone spacious, even with a back deck for outside relaxing. We attended events at the Kennedy Center, free shuttle bus picks you up from Metro exit. Eastern Market Metro takes you almost anywhere you want to go in DC. The Eastern Market has the tastiest pastas, sausages and cheeses, veggies and fruit for easy meals at home. We enjoyed Trattoria Alberto on our last night, feels like you are a regular, authentic Italian food. Though there are 3 suites in the one building, accommodations were private and quiet. The accommodations are what we would call apartments. We felt safe in the area no matter what time we arrived home. Halloween night was a fun happening just up the street in front of the Eastern Market. We sincerely appreciated the barely half block to the front door from the Metro after filling our day with major treks through museums, the Capitol, White House Tidal Basin and other historical sites. Kirk had recommended DC tours. The night tour was fantastic with a comfortable ride in a small van and stops with time for photos at major monuments. We would not hesitate to recommend Eastern Market Suites to family and friends. This will be our first choice for a return trip."

  • Excellent!

"We recently stayed here in our visit to Washington D.C. Sherman is very helpful and nice and answered all of our questions. We spent the weekend there and absolutely enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed. The kids absolutely loved it. It is way better and more affordable than a hotel. The best thing is after a long day at the National Mall or the U street you come back to what feels like your very own home and takes away all the fatigue. Location is excellent, it is close to Subway and U street (Ben's Chilli Bowl) and 15 min walk to U.S. Capitol. You have Internet, Washer/Dryer, Dish Washer, Full Kitchen with accessories, clean comfy beds and everything else. You will not regret staying here. Very Clean!"

  • Good experience

"Good points: Getting in and out was simple. The apartment was pretty much what I expected from the listing. All the essential things--bed, bath, kitchen--were fine. Good TV with apparently hundreds of channels. The recently renovated kitchen was especially nice and fully equipped. The location is excellent. An amazing amount of DC attractions are within a reasonable walk (say 2 miles), and the green-line metro is just a few blocks away. Groceries are nearby at Trader Joe and slightly farther at Whole Foods. Lots of popular restaurants and bars are on 14th street. The wifi worked (although sometimes seemed to chug). Caveats: We were there during a cold snap, and the apartment was very warm. To be comfortable we actually had to open windows, and I noticed others in the building doing the same thing. While the apartment was completely satisfactory for two adults, it would seem very tight with 4 adults. maybe two additional small children would work. The unit is oriented on a north-south axis, so the back units (with even numbers) are facing north, and so there is little natural light except in the bedrooms (on the back). They are, on the other hand, away from the street and so probably on average quieter (but the early morning trash trucks can be loud on the north side early in the morning). the views on the north side are pretty grim. There is some noise transmitted between floors, including just footsteps. If you were unlucky and your upstairs neighbors were loud, it would be unpleasant. Overall: for us it was comfortable and convenient; the price was reasonable. I expect to be staying here again in the future."
