  • Bill & Sue

"Our stay was more than expected! The very comfortable home (With everything included...right down to spices for cooking!), the beautiful white sand beach, the deck leading out to the pier, the wildlife (Ducks were regular visitors, and Sand Hill cranes also stopped by), the peace and quiet. Suzanne made us feel right at home. I would recommend this lake home to everyone. Looking foward to next years stay!"

  • Hospitality! Scenery! Relaxing getaway! A treat!

"Awesome place to take in the scenery and catch up on rest and relaxation. Rolph and Sabine have carved out a neat retreat right on the lake. Our families hit it off well right from the start because of their welcoming nature. We brought our kayaks and launched right off the private beach. There always seemed to be something interesting going on on the farm. They are up early (but that doesn't you have to be) feeding the ducks, letting out the horses, collecting the eggs, etc. Speaking of eggs, we got to try our first scrambled duck eggs there (delicious!). The Villages (huge retirement subdiv.) and the shops are about 20 minutes away, there is a "local" restaurant right on the lake (i think it was on around the lake though). We didn't go out much because it was so easy to cook there. One neat thing we did was drive to the gulf coast and swam with the manatees (very gentle creatures but the water was really cold in March even in wetsuits). Overall, we highly recommend this place. Give it a try, your family will thank you. The Hugs"

  • Family Reunion

"What a great place for a family reunion! We celebrated my dad's 80th birthday party and Father's day in the same weekend. Everything was just as described on the website. Everything is clean and the grounds are well maintained. The bunk house is so fun. The kids enjoyed the "play pen" as they called it. It's a small room just for the little kids that has a bed, toys, books and a tv that plays vhs movies to entertain the kids at night before they head off to bed. There are also bunk beds which the kids flipped a coin for the top bunk. Full refrigerator upstairs in case it was needed if the kitchen frig is too full. The master suite is GORGEOUS! Great big bed with a balcony and two sitting areas. The Cottage where my parents stayed was perfect because my dad could not do the stairs. There is a place to gather outside under a covered area for every meal that accomodated our whole group. It was nice to eat together and then visit in one area. Oh the beach area is awesome! Lots of sand and open area for everyone, chairs and loungers provided. The beach house is so darling. It also has a frig so that you can have popsicles for the kids and cold drinks too. The breeze is just right and the sunsets are perfect. We had a photographer come and take family photos of our group. One with the water in the background and the other with the beautiful flowers that the owner's have planted. There is also a huge oak tree that would be great for photos. Scottie and Larry are the best. Oh Sam's and Walmart are close by so you can wait until you get there to do your food shopping. You don't have to carry a bunch of coolers. It's also nice and quiet. The beach is private so you get it all to yourself. Room to park your boat and they have a canoe and kayak to use. Beach umbrellas if you don't want to sit in the direct sun. We brought our two dogs too. Scottie and Larry THANKS for EVERYTHING!"

  • the snowbirds

"we stayed 3 1/2 months and absolutely loved it. Wish we had a boat it would have been even better. It is conveniently located between the Villages and Ocala and plenty of activities to do. You are an hour from Disney and an hour from Daytona Beach and an hour and half from Clearwater Beach. We loved the relax atmosphere that the owners have given to the home. You do have several restaurants within minutes of the place but a wide variety within the Villages and Ocala. We also travelled around Florida to a lot the attraction sites of small cities for unique shopping to other attractions. Perfect location overall. Owners are very nice and always willing to help with whatever your needs. The place is very equipped with what you need. Overall I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends and would go back myself."

Lake Weir Travel Tips

Where Are Lake Weir Villas?

They exist in most people's dreams. There is added beauty to this dream though: you get to invent your vacation from scratch because it doesn't have the boundaries that most vacation spots do. You can go to Arizona or Maui, but they offer only a limited supply of options. Neither have the selections of being in Lake Weir vacation homes. Where is Lake Weir? In the middle of all of it. You have within a short drive; two coast lines; two lakes out your back door; other surrounding lakes; multiple golf courses in nearby areas; and of course there is Disney World. The homes on Lake Weir are indeed lake homes, not hotels. Lake Weir vacation homes have everything including beach access for boating, swimming and fishing. You will not find this sort of offering in most parts of the country.

You Like Golf?

Orlando vacation rentals get you to the lake. Leave Lake Weir villas and find Leesburg a short drive away with its eight golf courses and six of which are public. One of the courses is a nine hole, par 35 and the rest are 18 holes with pars ranging from 62 to 72. There is variety and they are in beautiful settings. Most are within six miles or less from the center of Leesburg and when you are done golfing, Leesburg has no limit on restaurants. Of course you can always go back to your own kitchen at the lake in Lake Weir villas.

Horse Aficionados

If it is horses you like, leave Lake Weir vacation homes for a drive to Ocala where you will find at least eleven horse farms in the Ocala region, some of which offer tours. If you are truly into horses, this is one of the country's premier breeding areas so be careful with your wallet: you may find yourself buying a new mare!
