"The pool area is what made our group of 10 agree on renting this home. We were not disappointed with 5 children in the group there was plenty of room on the patio for children and parents. The refrigerator outside was a bonus for us. After spending time in the parks we were able to retreat to the home and truly relax. The sunrise and balloons were an amazing site. We would definitely rent this home again."

  • Villa with it all!

"My fiancee' and I had the pleasure of staying at this great Florida Villa. We enjoyed everything about this rental. It is very spacious and a wonderful place to stay with your family or combined families being it has 5 bedrooms. Game room will be a plus for the kids or even the adults as we enjoyed it as well. Kitchen was well stocked. It is a gated Community so you feel very safe there. The location could not have been better....close and within a few minutes to the Disney Parks, shopping, and restaurants. What we loved most was coming back after a day at the Parks and being able to go for a swim in their beautiful pool. It was also great lounging by the pool just reading a book. My fiancee' loved the lake and did some fishing while we were there. He did catch a few fish. It also is lovely to just go for a walk around the lake and community. Do not hesitate to rent this beautiful villa with all of its great amenities. You will not be disappointed. We will be back."

  • Thumbs up!

"My family and I stayed at this townhouse in early December and had a very positive experience! Our party consisted of 5 adults and 2 young children. The townhouse was very clean and well appointed and the owner was prompt and easy to work with. We had a great week despite the cool weather! The kids loved finding our Christmas Elf on the Shelf each morning (up on top of the ceiling fan, behind the curtains, inside the kitchen cabinet, and waiting by the front door with Disney autograph books). We didn't use the pool outside but we loved the child safety gate and pool alarm! We enjoyed the game room and playground at the clubhouse and had fun playing tennis at the tennis courts. The condo complex does indeed have very close proximity to Disney and Sea World, as well as many local supermarkets, restaurants, and stores. We have already recommended this townhouse to friends and family and would definitely stay here again in the future!"

  • 6 bedroom close to Disney World

"This was our first time renting and we were more than satisfied. The house was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, there was a laundry room and extra dryer, and my grandchildren, ages 9 and 10, loved the house and the pool. The kids each had their own room and bath, and two sets of adults had their own king bed and attached bath. At the end of our stay, I asked my grandson what he most enjoyed about our vacation, which included four Disney parks and a day at downtown Disney, and he said "the pool." We spent our last day at the pool rather than hit a different park, because that's what the kids wanted. Our son and his wife said we gave them a vacation they would never forget. It's a short drive to all the Disney parks, which made my husband happy. It's also a short drive to Publix supermarket, Target, and a number of restaurants. My relatives are already asking for the rental information because they want to duplicate our trip."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
