"We just spent a month in this home and were more than pleased. It's beautifully decorated and has all of the dishes/pots/pans/kitchen gadgets that one needs for a comfortable stay. We used all of the beds and everyone rated them as very comfortable. We found this location within The Villages to be our favorite so far! It's extremely easy to get everywhere by car, or golf cart. There are two shopping centers within a very close distance and many, many holes of golf both Executive and Championship, within a stone's throw. This home comes with a membership to thevillages.net so you'll be all ready to start making tee times. We particularly enjoyed the Lighthouse Restaurant in Lake Sumter Landing for seafood and Square 1 Burger in the Pinellas Plaza. They had the best Bacon Bleu Burger I've ever eaten! We love going to the squares at night and this home is close to LSL and close enough to Brownwood. My husband was working remotely for part of the month and the office in this home had several things that were helpful, not the least of which was very fast internet. There is a sleeper sofa in that room which we didn't sleep on, so I can't rate that, but it was very nice looking. We spent many hours morning and afternoon on the lanai. The landscaping in the back provides some privacy and it's a very comfortable place to pass the time. We played pickle ball, went to line dancing classes and golfed every day. My husband's favorite pastime while vacationing in The Villages is playing basketball. He did that six days a week. If you are looking for a comfortable rental in a great location, I would highly recommend this home. You won't be sorry!"Guest: Alanna Farnsworth Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 1, 2014View listing
"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was nicely furnished and in good shape. The location was ideal, close to Lake Sumter Landing, the most popular town center at this time. Only negative would be difficulty with the TV, no directions for operating the living room unit. Also, the electric cart was not plugged in upon arrival.
Other than those minor irritations, it was a great experience.
As advertised, the community was very friendly, and the amenities were great, especially the golf courses. There are a lot of rules in The Villages, but not a big deal once you get the hang of it. To keep the community in top shape, and to maintain order and fairness with the amenities, the rules are understandable.
I'll be back for sure."Guest: Jim S. "As soon as you come in the front door, it's easy to see this home is clean, comfortable and well maintained. It is exactly as described and really does feel like home. It is tastefully decorated and had everything that we needed including an ice cream scoop and a DVR. The home is conveniently located and the golf cart is fun to scoot around in. The owner has been a pleasure to deal with and we appreciate them sharing their home with us. We had a great time and are already looking forward to coming back again next year. We'll definitely stay in the same home again."Guest: Ted & Sandra Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 23, 2014View listing
"This property is great. Just like home away from home. Lorraine is a lovely person and just great to work with. Don't be like me and wait too long to rent this. I won't be making that mistake again!"Guest: Donna Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: April 23, 2014View listing
The Villages Travel Tips
The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.
The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.
The Villages Attractions
The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.
Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
