  • Winter get-away

"Beautiful home and fully stocked. Everything worked and all we needed were groceries. Played a lot of Pickleball and went to the Squares free entertainment. We did not play golf but the courses looked in great shape. We also had some great meals at some of the restaurants. The landscaping at the Villages is beautiful. Bring a GPS as the Villages is huge. Be sure to get a map at one of the information centers. There must be at least 30 Recreation centers so you never have to drive far to get to one. Had a great time and would rent this unit again."

  • Location and Comfort

"We recently rented this home for a month. It is comfortable, immaculately clean and well-maintained. Location is within easy walk to everything you want to see and do in Winter Park - lake walk, shopping, dining, museums and entertainment. We loved our visit. Train was no issue to us. Guests who stayed in the front bedroom found there was too much street noise to have windows open at night but it was generally too cool to do so. Back room was very quiet even with college students living next door. We found the manager to be very pleasant and responsive - we woke one day to find fence damage and it was fixed the next day. We would definitely rent this home again."

  • Weekend Vacation

"The condo was amazing. My family and I were only there for two nights and the day in between and most of that day was spent at Legoland, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Way better than being stuck in a hotel. Thanks Tina!"

  • We enjoyed our stay. Very close to the parks

"We enjoyed our stay. It's very close to all the parks and very easy to get there. Plenty of room for everyone one with three bedrooms and three full baths. There is even a hideaway bed in a couch on the first floor. The washer and dryer in the second floor was a nice touch. Very quite with no loud neighbors keeping my family awake, all of us had a good nights rest :) My whole family had a great time and we would recommend a stay here to anyone. As a matter of fact we already did."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
