  • LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A FABULOUS RENTAL

"My husband and I rented this Villa for five weeks while we shopped for a home in The Villages. If this rental was for sale, we would be the new owners. It is conveniently located to restaurants, entertainment and shopping plazas when we felt like going out. If we were looking for some alone time with each other and eating/staying in, it was perfect for that too. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with a private, gorgeous yard (BBQ included) and we loved eating and relaxing in the screened lanai. As we both enjoy cooking, we were happy to be in a rental with a well stocked kitchen including sharp, not dull, knives for preparing meals. We travel often and this is the cleanest rental we have ever rented. The landlords, Helena and Frank, thought of everything including a breakfast basket for our first morning in the rental and a toiletries basket in the bathroom in case we had forgotten a needed item. Overall, a perfect rental."

  • Pleased Repeat Visitors

"We have rented this home for several years consecutively for the following reasons: 1. It's in a great, centralized location in The Villages. 2. The owners make it such a pleasant, easy experience. All you have to do is show up because everything you need is at the house from a crock pot to a golf cart gassed up and ready to go. 3. The house is always neat and clean and in good repair. 4. The owners really strive to make it a home away from home and respond immediately to any concerns and issues. They live in The Villages and have even come over in the middle of the night to help me with an issue when my husband was out of town. They are really terrific. 5. There are 2,000+ clubs in The Villages to cater to any interest you might have along with multiple venues of live entertainment, lots of friendly and active 55+ adults, fabulous movie theaters, lovely surroundings and landscaping, multiple restaurants, and too many adult educational opportunities to believe. You just have to visit the place to take it all in. 6. A couple of new favorites this year were Yalaha Bakery where they make beautiful, authentic German pastries "to die for" and yummy lunches with great German cold cuts; Rae Rae's Restaurant in Lady Lake has phenomenal breakfasts, Harbor Hills Country Club in Lady Lake does a wonderful Sunday Brunch and the list goes on and on!"

  • Great house to getaway!

"The home was so much more spacious then it looked in the pictures. It was very neat, clean, great décor, very comfortable & had everything we needed(and more). Beds were super comfy. Plenty of extra pillows and warm soft blankets. The bedrooms were on opposite sides of the house which made for great privacy if you are with another couple. There is also a pull out couch for an extra guest. We enjoyed the outdoor patio which was great for your morning cup of coffee. It had all the kitchen amenities you would need, and included beach towels which was nice so we did not have to pack them. It was an hr. and a half to nearby beaches. We visited New Smyrna...it had beautiful sandy beaches and a fun restaurant which we ate at (Chase Landing). It was a little over an hr. to the theme parks in Orlando. We visited Wild Bills airboat Tour which was 30 minutes away. (Although Wild Willy's in Kissimmee was much better). The Villages were a fun places for shopping, dining & entertainment. One of the best restaurants we ate in the Villages was at Red Sauce...excellent food. Had a few restaurants on the water which were beautiful at sunset. People were very friendly in this area. A grocery store (Winn Dixie) is about 5 minutes away by golf cart, and this was very convenient many times. We had use to the golf cart with the house. This is how many get around in this town. We also made use of the family swimming pool which was minutes away. (Coconut Cove). The guys golfed 3 times during our week stay. Course were very nice. Bonifay was the nicest of the 3. The other two they golfed at were Nancy Lopez and Palmers Legend. This is the first time we rented a house as we are usually hotel kind of people. The owners were very helpful in answering any questions and were very knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience and would certainly do it again! THANK YOU so much to Patty and Richard for a most memorable week!"

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
