"The house was wonderful; very clean and comfortable. We had 5 adults and 2 children in our party; we only stayed 2 days, and wish we could have stayed longer! We highly recommend this home to anyone looking at staying in the area."Guest: Aubri F. Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 19, 2014View listing
"My family of 5 stayed here (3 adults, 2 kids) while we were visiting all of the Disney parks. The owner, Pam, is excellent in responding to your emails immediately. I wanted to add to additional days onto our visit and after much communication, we were allowed. The only complaint I would have in terms of reservations is that once we booked, I wanted to be able to get the physical address from the rental company to reserve a stroller and they would not release the address until 7 days before our arrival which was and added pain, but the stroller company worked with us. We arrived in Orlando at noon and we were lucky enough to be able to check into the condo. The master suite is very nice and large and the bed was very comfortable. The other 2 rooms were on the small side, but had comfortable beds and we were out of the condo each day by 7am and not back until 7 or 8pm so the size worked out fine. The condo was very clean. The washer and dryer worked great and we were even able to lay our wet rain poncho's, stroller and umbrellas out in the garage at night to dry out. On Friday and Saturday night, there is a neighbor that likes to party and play their music loud, but we were really too tired to care about it so it was not an issue. I would rent this condo again."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 26, 2014View listing
"My family and I had a great time at this house. There was pleanty of space for everyone to play and sleep. There was a total of 4 kids, 4yrs to 10 yrs and 4 adults. I think the kids enjoyed the pool more then they did disneyworld! The house is in a nice and quiet location. The drive to disneyworld with traffice took us about 25 min to magical kingdom and about 15 min to animal kingdom, so the drive wasnt too bad to get to and from there. I was very pleased with our stay and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. The only thing is that when you sit down to have a family dinner the table only seats 4 and there is only 2 seats at the bar so not everyone can sit together. Other then that the house was perfect and the neighborhood was great."Guest: Crew of 8 Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 25, 2014View listing
"The home is terrific and the owner was a pleasure to work with through the process and the description was very accurate. This is a large beautiful property located on the Palmer course at Reunion resort. The proximity to Disney and all the activities is great, yet you are staying in a peaceful environment at Reunion away from the hustle and bustle of the parks but within 15 minutes and an easy ride. I would highly recommend this home and will stay there again on my next trip to Orlando!!"Guest: Rose Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 24, 2014View listing
The Villages Travel Tips
The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.
The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.
The Villages Attractions
The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.
Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.
You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
