  • Great Home - Spacious Rooms

"We were pleasantly surprised at how large this home was when we arrived. Beautiful open space design (kitchen, living room, and dining room as one open area.) The bedrooms were spacious, especially the master suite - with a excellent shower and whirlpool. The entertainment system was enjoyed by our family, especially the large flat screen TV. The screened in pool area was a perfect place to drink the morning cup of coffee\tea and enjoy the outdoors, without the flying pests."

  • Excellent family villa

"Just got home from our stay in this lovely villa. It is in an excellent location and so close to the entrance of disney. It was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The pool was lovely and overlooked a large green area which was also handy for the kids to run around on. A bonus for us was the lovely warm jacuzzi which was great for relaxing in at the end of a long stay. We felt comfortable here and very safe which was very important for us with 4 small childten. We can't wait to come back to Orlando and would definately want to stay here again."

  • Great vacation home

"We had a great stay for 8 nights. Very clean, comfortable and close to Disney. It took about 10 minutes to be in the park. Everything worked excellent. TV, WiFi, kitchen and laundry. I hope to be back soon."

  • Kayaker's Dream

"We chose the property because we wanted to kayak the Rainbow river, and it was a dream come true. With all the kayaks we had our choice of boats, and my 6 year old even got to paddle her own boat for the first time. The house is huge with tons of room and storage for luggage to be out of the way,so we truly settled in and felt at home. The 3 big comfy couches were perfect for relaxing after long days of paddling, and the kitchen had everything we needed, right down to the ice maker. The owners were friendly and always got back to us promptly, and the woman who met us at the cabin was knowledgeable and friendly. We used the fire pit for smores and star gazing, then enjoyed watching the mist on the river from the dock in the mornings. The location of the house is perfect! It is an easy paddle up to the headwaters of the rainbow River, then you can float back to the house. Everytime we went out we saw fish, turtles, blue herons, cormorants, etc, this is a true nature lovers paradise. The Rainbow river is the most beautiful place I have ever been, it is like looking into an aquarium! I reccommend staying as long as you can because you won't want to get out of the boats."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
