  • PERFECT LOCATION - PERFECT HOUSE!!!!

"We have rented vacation homes in Orlando/Kissimmee 5+ years and THIS was our favorite so far. The location was perfect and the house was beautiful-- we lacked for nothing. The layout is great and very spacious. The best part was working with the owners, who were exceptionally kind and a joy to work with. CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK - we won't stay anywhere else from now on."

  • Nice and comfortable

"Our stay was very enjoyable. We took advantage of a well-equipped villa, a golf cart in excellent condition, a calm environment and close to shopping and recreation centers. In addition, Peggy has always responded quickly to all our requests. If possible, we would love to rent this villa again."

  • Magical experience!!

"If you are looking for a place to stay and don't want to be in the small confines of a hotel room this is the place. The home is just minutes from Disney World. It's was quicker for us to get to the main gate than for our friends that stayed in Disney. The home is very large so my family had all the space they needed after long days at Disney! It is also a big savings because you can cook breakfast and dinner at home instead of fast food all the time. I love having the space to relax after a theme park day. My grand daughter loved the pool and hot tub after a long day of visiting with the characters she loves. The home had everything needed to have an enjoyable week vacation. Kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed for cooking. The beds were comfortable and the home is well maintained. The gated community is beautiful and my grand daughter loved the playground. The whole community is very peaceful to come home to after a long day at a theme park. If your looking for a place to stay that is not on disney grounds but as close as you can get you have found your vacation home. Also the owners are great. They answered all questions and are very friendly. Hope everyone gets the chance to stay at this vacation home."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
