  • Family vacation

"We leave out tomorrow and have enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is great, seems to have been a little updated since the website pictures. Pool heat was perfect and the geckos stayed outside the lunia and were fun to watch. I do recommend telling visitors to pull up all the way in the driveway, we did receive a $50 ticket for being on the sidewalk when we arrived late our first night. Love this location and would stay here again for a future Disney trip."

  • Great House

"Just returned from our week's stay and truly enjoyed the Home. Ironically, we stayed at a rental home on the same street last year and this one is definitely an upgrade. The House is well maintained, everything works, and Joel and Rose have ensured that such items as a drying rack by the pool for wet bathing suits and extra towel hooks in the bathrooms are small items that come in handy when needed. We enjoy staying in this area as we use it as a base to go shopping in Orlando or to the beach in St. Petersburg. It is definitely a Home that we would recommend to friends and family"

  • Wonderful Vacation Property

"Our family arrived in November 2014 for two weeks and enjoyed everything about the home. There were 2 seniors, 3 adults, 1 teen and 2 -8 years olds. Having 2 master kings suites was a gift that included huge bathrooms with separate showers, dual sinks and tub. The home is one story which we loved and made keeping track of the kids great. The floor plan is perfect for two or more couples with kids. We had most meals at the kitchen bar which made cooking, serving and clean up a breeze. The pool area is very large with seating for at least 20 and a gas BBQ grill. The pool was larger than the pictures show. One end of the pool is six feet deep and the other three feet and allowed room for all 8 of us to swim comfortably at the same time. The pool deck is completely screend and private with bushes around the entire outside giving you absolute privacy. There is a spa (not a hot tub) which was great for relaxing in after walking the parks all day and was worth every penny to have it heated! The neighborhood is quiet and we felt very safe being away from the fast paced tourist areas. We were happy to drive the little extra distance and will stay here again on our next trip. The washer and dryer worked great and the WI-FI worked in every room of the house including the outside deck. All 8 of us had iPads, computers or smart phones and could all be on it at the same time. Michelle and her husband were so kind and prompt with answers to our questions and take great care of the property. If you are looking for a worry and stress free place to stay, that is kid friendly and safe this is it. Our grandkids complained when we went to yet another park and just wanted to stay home at the pool. We agreed and our next trip will limit ourselves to only two parks and enjoy the amenities at this home."

  • A Class Act! Fun / Enjoyment / Relaxation

"Star Lake Manor has gone beyond the expectations of a rental home in Kissimmee. There were 15 of us(5 families) ranging in ages from 6 to 66. Everyone loved the home inside & outside. There were no disappointments!! The owners Paul & Rachel have gone to extremes with this home to provide luxury & fun in one package. Most important everything worked(pool heat, whirlpool settings, all pool LED lights, Barbecue & outdoor bar, Cinema theater room, 3D movies, great movie selection, Game room with bar, etc). More then enough room for everyone!! Location, Formosa Gardens is the place to be close to everything. The days flew by quickly. Rent it, it's worth it & You will Love it!! The owners are awesome to work with!!"

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
