  • A home away from home.

"I chose David's condo completely by accident, and I am so glad I did. It was so much more comfortable than a hotel. The master bedroom is beautiful. My son-in-law, who is 6'7", just loved the king sized bed and could not believe that he actually was able to get into the Jacuzzi tub with his legs straightened. My husband and I took the 2nd bedroom with the 2 double beds. Our grandchildren, 4 & 8, were in one and we were in the other. We loved being with them and it gave their parents a break. The kids just loved the pool and we would leave the parks early just so they could get in some swim time. Thank you David."

  • Great location, house has good features

"The house is well equipped with TV's and not only WiFi but a computer as well. There were loads of personal touches - cots, toys, safe etc. which made it home from home. There is a hot tub under the Lanai which was great fun for an hour or so on a couple of days when the weather was cooler. The bedrooms were a good size although I hadn't realised that one of them was in a garage conversion and was down a step after going past the washer and dryer. The property was very clean on our arrival. Some aspects of the house are showing a little age but all was serviceable. We had a need to contact the managing agent and our comments were readily taken on board and acted on promptly. While there were plenty of chairs on the pool deck there were only two sun loungers which were just about adequate for our needs but could be an issue for a larger party. Lindfields is a great area, near enough to the parks for convenience but far enough away to be able to relax from the hustle and bustle. As Orlando is one of THE holiday destinations you will find attractions to suit any taste. One restaurant to mention is Ace Plus Chinese on the 192, their buffet is excellent - well worth a try."

  • Wonderful House

"Every year in January our big family (16 persons, adults, kids and elders) go to Florida to spend our vacation. Since we discovered and rented this house the vacation has become much better. The house is big enough to fit all of us comfortably. It has all the appliances that you might need during the stay and the pool area (and view) are beautiful. The best thing is that we got to know the owners, who are great and helpful people, and we were able to see that because of them the house is well kept and decorated. It was our second time, but for sure it won't be the last! Can't go wrong with this house."

  • My Disney adventure - Group of twelve

"Daydream Escape is located two homes from a gated entrance at Windsor Hills Resort. Unfortunately this entrance is only available for use by home owners, so basically you are at the back of the resort. Because of the location of the home, the resort facilities are not within walking distance. (We were really to busy to use the facilities anyway) On the bright side the house is basically on a dead end road except for a few owners that use the back gate, so traffic is minimal. The home itself is as described. The home is roomy, we had a group of 12 and we had enough space for everyone. The pool and spa overlook a small fenced in pond, the kids loved the pool. The pool was also private enough so neighbors on either side were virtually unnoticeable. The kitchen was great for the rare occasion we were actually back from the theme parks to use it. The home is dated, not out of date but some of the furniture starting to show wear, some of the bedroom televisions are small tube TV's, and the gaming system is a play-station 2 etc. etc.. The two eight year olds were disappointed by the play-station. (No games, and good luck finding games for this old system.) We spent so much time at parks this was not an issue, especially for the adults. We had 3 cars, and the driveway will only accommodate 2 cars. Parking on the street didn't seem to be a problem since the traffic was minimal because we were at the back of the park. Location is extremely convenient, most Disney parks are within 15 to 20 minute drive. Restaurants, convenient stores and coffee shops all within five to ten minutes. Overall I am satisfied with Daydream escape, I would use this rental again and I would also recommend to large families."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.

Things to Do in The Villages

Regional centers feature courts and fitness facilities. Those who have dogs can take their furry friends for outdoor activities at any of the 11 parks, dog parks and trails owned by The Villages.

- Entertainment: There are three town squares in The Villages, including Lake Sumter Landing's Market Square, Spanish Springs Town Square and Brownwood Paddock Square. These town squares feature nightly activities such as live music and a farmer's market. If you want to watch sports rather than participate, you can also catch a game at one of numerous softball fields or The Villages Polo Stadium. There are also opportunities to learn woodworking or take a class at the Lifelong Learning College in The Villages.

- Wineries: Visitors to The Villages can take a tour and enjoy wine tasting at Lakeride Winery and Vineyards. The winery is located in Clermont and is the former center of Florida's grape industry. There is an extensive tasting room with annual festivals and a gift shop. More than 80,000 cases, or more than 960,000 bottles, are produced at Lakeride Winery each year.
