"The home was so much more spacious then it looked in the pictures. It was very neat, clean, great décor, very comfortable & had everything we needed(and more). Beds were super comfy. Plenty of extra pillows and warm soft blankets. The bedrooms were on opposite sides of the house which made for great privacy if you are with another couple. There is also a pull out couch for an extra guest. We enjoyed the outdoor patio which was great for your morning cup of coffee. It had all the kitchen amenities you would need, and included beach towels which was nice so we did not have to pack them. It was an hr. and a half to nearby beaches. We visited New Smyrna...it had beautiful sandy beaches and a fun restaurant which we ate at (Chase Landing). It was a little over an hr. to the theme parks in Orlando. We visited Wild Bills airboat Tour which was 30 minutes away. (Although Wild Willy's in Kissimmee was much better). The Villages were a fun places for shopping, dining & entertainment. One of the best restaurants we ate in the Villages was at Red Sauce...excellent food. Had a few restaurants on the water which were beautiful at sunset. People were very friendly in this area. A grocery store (Winn Dixie) is about 5 minutes away by golf cart, and this was very convenient many times. We had use to the golf cart with the house. This is how many get around in this town. We also made use of the family swimming pool which was minutes away. (Coconut Cove). The guys golfed 3 times during our week stay. Course were very nice. Bonifay was the nicest of the 3. The other two they golfed at were Nancy Lopez and Palmers Legend. This is the first time we rented a house as we are usually hotel kind of people. The owners were very helpful in answering any questions and were very knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience and would certainly do it again! THANK YOU so much to Patty and Richard for a most memorable week!"Guest: Deb Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 8, 2014View listing
"This house far exceeded my expectations. The pictures just don't do it justice. It is very clean, neat and has all of the amenities you could need during your stay. It is tastefully decorated and the owners splurged when buying items for the house such as appliances, linens, etc. The owners went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay and offered insight on The Villages. I am in the process of relocating to Florida for work and my only regret is that I didn't book another month here."Guest: Teri M. "Move in ready, just need groceries. Once you learn the layout of The Villages you're in retirement heaven. Activities galore and everyone is friendly. Loved the golf, pickleball and pools."Guest: Charlie Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: May 31, 2014View listing
"The property was "as advertised" and we enjoyed our stay a great deal. The location was convenient to two of the downtown squares and easily accessible by golf cart. We would definitely stay here again."Guest: Kevin & Karen G. Date of Stay: October 2013 Review Submitted: November 3, 2013View listing

This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.
The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.
The Villages Attractions
The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life."
