  • This was homeaway

"My family rented this home and had 3 college kids meet us there for a family get together. This home was in perfect condition when we got there, it was very clean both inside and out. At no time did we have to call the owner or management company. Its close to everything you are looking for or need, we plan in trying to do this again next year."

  • Best Experience With a Rental Property

"We have stayed in several rental properties over the past 5 years and none compare the this. Everything was as they said it was in the description and this was the 1st time we DID NOT have to call the owner/management company to care for an issue. We have annual passes and will try to schedule future trips around the availability of this house."

  • Great home away from home

"This condo was all that was advertised and then some. The condo was well furnished and beds very comfortable after a long day at the parks. It was great to have a place to make a great breakfast before heading out. Frank was very responsive and professional from our first interaction. Thank you for helping to make Orlando a great vacation."

  • fun and relaxing

"My family and I had a great time at this house. There was pleanty of space for everyone to play and sleep. There was a total of 4 kids, 4yrs to 10 yrs and 4 adults. I think the kids enjoyed the pool more then they did disneyworld! The house is in a nice and quiet location. The drive to disneyworld with traffice took us about 25 min to magical kingdom and about 15 min to animal kingdom, so the drive wasnt too bad to get to and from there. I was very pleased with our stay and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. The only thing is that when you sit down to have a family dinner the table only seats 4 and there is only 2 seats at the bar so not everyone can sit together. Other then that the house was perfect and the neighborhood was great."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
