  • Exceptional Resort

"We just returned from a 7 night visit at Bonnet Creek and we can't say enough great things about this resort. We had a 2 bedroom delux unit which was very clean and spacious. The pools and constant activities at the resort were very fun for our tweens and our 3 year old son. There's something for everyone. We visited 4 parks and a water park and were never in the car longer than 10 minutes. It's truly a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we cannot understand how anyone can post a negative review of this resort. The pool times did not bother us, as we were so tired every night that we were in bed no later than 11pm each night. But the kids did get to have a night swim most nights prior to 10pm. On our next visit, we would like to go to less parks and spend more time at the resort. Thank you Cathy for all your help and expertise and for helping to make the best family vacation we have ever had."

  • Fabulous Property with Perfect Location!

"We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday staying at this property and can't rate it highly enough - it was absolutely perfect! The property is beautiful, well maintained and a very welcome retreat from the theme parks. All aspects were finished to a really high standard with a very well equipped kitchen. The pool area was lovely - very relaxing and beautifully finished. The Windsor Hills area is fabulous! Very well managed and maintained and everyone was so helpful. The property is a very easy 5 minute drive from the Disney resort and 15-20 minutes from Sea World and Universal. I am very grateful to Grant for all the help and advise that he gave us. It made the whole holiday process from enquiry, planning, booking through to arrival extremely smooth. Grant also recommended a superb restaurant for a family birthday celebration! Many thanks again Grant - a fabulous holiday!"

  • Awesome

"This house was amazing, it was comfortable for all of us. The kids had a bed each and the game room served as a getaway for the older kids. The proximity to a nice Indian curry restaurant was pleasing to my family members that came from the Middle East and England. We will definitely be doing this again."

The Villages Travel Tips

The retirement community of The Villages is located in sunny, central Florida. It is 20 miles south of Ocala and 57 miles northwest of Orlando in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. This development is home to more than 51,000 people and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the U.S. as well as the fastest-growing small town.

The Villages' history dates back to the 1960s when Harold Schwartz, a Michigan businessman, sold land to retirees looking to escape to a warmer climate. Today, the descendants of Harold Schwartz and his son H. Gary Morse still control The Villages.

The Villages Attractions

The master-planned retirement community offers several forms of recreational activity. The Villages has numerous golf courses and offers "Free Golf for Life." Thirty-two of the courses are 9-hole layouts while the remaining 10 are country club championship courses. Two additional courses will be 27-hole layouts with a total of 621 holes of golf by the end of a final course build?-out.

Visit the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort and take a step back in time. This museum is home to the largest collection of antique horse-drawn carriages in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world. There are more than 160 carriages from Europe and America, including the 1850 Ambruster Dress Chariot that once carried Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph and his wife, Elisabeth.

You can do plenty of shopping without leaving The Villages. There are boutiques scattered throughout the town squares, including many of the country's most popular brands. There are also grocery stores, pharmacies and superstores that will help you find everything you need. You can even venture throughout The Villages on your golf cart, the most fun way to travel through a small town.
