  • Paradise on Cinnamon Beach!! After a Rocky Start!!

"Our group of 16 vacationed at The Sea Gem and had a WONDERFUL trip! The rocky start began when we were about an hour away from arriving and I received a call from the Rental Agency (Vacation Rental Pros) informing me that the refrigerator in the main kitchen on the 3rd floor was broken. I expressed to them that this would not work and we would definitely be needing that refrigerator. They told me it would be Thursday before it would be fixed. Well, long story short, that did NOT work for me, so I took to Facebook and aired my complaints for all the world to see. Well, lo and behold, I received another call very shortly thereafter and was told that the rental agency had contacted the oweners and I would have a new frig on Monday, which I could live with. The owners are WONDERFUL people, not only did they get us a new frig, they helped DELIVER AND INSTALL it!! And also brought us a new griddle, steak knives and a hand mixer that was on the fritz. They genuinely cared about our vacation and it showed! As for the house, it is magnificent. Especially that 3rd floor balcony, I am still missing sipping my morning coffee while watching the dolphins play! The home is spacious and user friendly, especially with that elevator, it is a life saver! The pool area and hot tub are awesome and the beach is just gorgeous and not crowded. There was no chair and umbrella service, but it was off season in September, so don't forget to bring your own. There are lots of activities around the area, we went to Disney one day (about 1.5 hr drive) the guys went deep sea fishing one day. There are a ton of good local restaurants nearby, I loved The Funky Pelican! One Debbie Downer comment is that the neighbor to the right of The Sea Gem is a real grouch!! I think he may only be there on the weekends, on Sunday morning, the day after we arrived, the kids were excited and up bright and early and in the pool at 0830, so Mr. Neighbor Man calls security to drop by our place and tell us that the kids had to get out of the pool until 0900. I mean....really?? I also agree with another poster that the garbage rules are very confusing. I couldn't figure out why there was such a stink over the garbage (pardon the pun) All in all, the SEA GEM is truly what it's name says! I would whole-heartedly recommend it and hope to return someday!!"

  • Perfect for us

"We stayed here for a wedding with combined families and found it to be perfect for us. The place has been remodeled with some things left the same which we found gave the place personality. We did minimal cooking so not sure about pots and pans but for breakfast and lunches it was more than enough dishes etc. It is walking distance to the beach or if you have a lot of stuff (we did as a large group) you can simply drive down and drop it all off then park back at the house and walk. Hall and Sally were prompt and efficient and I got my refund within days of leaving. The house is near enough to walk to many restaurants and shops. Only drawback for the large group we had was 2 bathrooms, but we got it to work. Overall we loved it!!"
