  • Beautiful Condo!!!!!

"Good vacation. Beach was nice. The condo is one of the best decorated condos I have ever been in. Master bed is super comfortable. Plenty of room for our family of 6. The Kids Game Room by the pool was AWESOME! I wish we would have spent more time there. <br/>We arrived early. Housekeeping called us and let us know when they where done, we were able to get in a little early. <br/>There are a few things that would have made our vacation better:<br/>1. Pools closer to condo<br/>2. Activities in the area (mini golf, go karts, stuff like that)<br/>3. The older man that bartendended was grumpy. He did not believe me when I told him something was wrong w margarita. "It comes from a mix and I have never had a complaint." The next day I saw another lady send hers back.<br/>4. Bar drinks where very expensive. Would have been nice to have a Happy Hour. <br/><br/><br/>"

  • Ocean Delight was a Delight

"House was beautiful and in a great location away from busy St. Augustine but not too far. Management was very helpful with the grill not working and trash collection. Master bath had a toilet that ran continuously and needs work. Overall, was almost perfect and will return. Beaching was easy and very private. Caught many fish and dining out was fabulous"

  • Great Location

"We had a great stay at Horizon's, the pool was extremely clean, the grounds were beautifully landscaped and the ocean front was out of this world. We walked the beach every single day. Inside the condo the kitchen was meticulous, beautiful granite countertops with all brand new stainless steel appliances and everything you’d want in a kitchen, as well, as towels galore. We are staying there again next year."

  • Outstanding Vacation

"What an amazing week!!! We were first time renters and a little apprehensive as to what to expect. The check-in started out well (we arrived at 11:00am). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only hitch was at the 4:00 "legal" check in time. Things were a bit chaotic, but all in all we only had a half hour wait to grab our keys. We were very pleasantly surprised at how clean and maintained the condo was when we arrived. We had originally booked the condo as a family of nine (my husband, myself, my three 20 something year old sons, two girlfriends and my 15 year old daughter) but at the last minute my sister-in-law and two nieces (ages 3 & 8) were able to join us. The condo had a great set up and we had more than enough room. We truly enjoyed the umbrella and chair service at the beach every day and finished up our afternoons by the fabulous pools and lazy river. Our only hiccup was when I woke on Tuesday morning to a warm fridge and melted freezer. I sent an email to Robin. Within 10 minutes I had a reply and a repairman was on the way. The repairman arrived within the hour and after an assessment of the appliance and a call to order new parts, it was determined that the repair would take 3 days. I didn't even have time to complain because Robin immediately instructed them to purchase and install a brand new fridge. Side note...all this took place while I was sitting on the beach!!! By the time we returned from our day of sun and fun, the new fridge was up and running with all of our items moved into the new one by the repairman. I never lifted a finger. I then received another email from Robin instructing me to let her know if anything had spoiled because she would reimburse us for any items lost. Fortunately all we had to throw out were two ice cream cups from Baskin Robbins. What could have been an all day, time consuming, beach time lost nightmare was turned into a pleasant, 2 email exchange with fantastic results all because of Robin. She was an absolute dream to deal with. We are hoping to rent again next year because we enjoyed ourselves so much! Another side note....The Oceanwalk shoppes, restaurants and movie theater make the experience even more enjoyable. You literally can park your car and not drive again til you leave if you choose to. It has a great "island feel"!!"

Daytona Beach Travel Tips

Known as "The World's Most Famous Beach," Daytona Beach is an ideal destination attracting sunshine-seekers. The white sand shorelines are tucked along the east coast of central Florida, brimming with family-friendly activities. The city is home to the Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the Daytona 500, one of the biggest racing events in the country.

A Glimpse at Daytona

Though the population is only about 62,000, nearly 8 million vacationers from around the world flock to Daytona's shores each year. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, the weather is balmy - which is certainly one of its biggest perks. In the summer, temperatures hover around 80 degrees while they rarely get lower than 50 degrees in the winter. For logistic purposes, the city lies about 51 miles northeast of Orlando and 86 miles southeast of Jacksonville.

The Beach

Soak up the Florida sunshine along the 23 miles of shimmering beaches. With so much sun and sand, water sports are a must. Surfing, fishing, kayaking and dolphin-watching all make the list! Ride the fad wave of paddleboarding and try it out for yourself. If you want to sail thousands of feet over the ocean, strap in for an afternoon of parasailing. At night, there are a bunch of bars that party animals will enjoy. The best part? It's open 24/7 with free access!

The Daytona 500

The Daytona 500, dubbed "The Great American Race," is the shining star of NASCAR events. For decades, the 200-lap, 500-mile-long competition has been among the biggest, richest and most iconic races in the Sprint Cup calendar. The event takes place in the Daytona International Speedway around mid-February.

Fans young and old make their way to witness not only the exhilarating sights and sounds of the final race, but also Speedweeks, which is handful of events leading up to it. If you're coming with children, it's not a bad idea to buy a day pass and bring them to the pre-race activities, including giveaways and samples. Despite the mild weather, Daytona 500 is a long event, so spectators should dress in layers. Veteran 500-goers know to bring snacks, water and ponchos, just in case.
