  • BEAUTIFUL Vacation Rental!

"We (My son 7 years old and 1 year old dog) absolutely LOVED our stay at La Vita del Mare! This was one of the best beach houses we've ever stayed in and pet friendly! The pictures are very accurate and it's even bigger than the images show.... It's spotless and was equipped with all the amenities that made it feel like we were right at home - from cooking supplies to beach towels/chairs - it made the stay enjoyable and easy. The setting was absolutely gorgeous too...very short walk to the beach, and nestled on a beautiful private road with other beautiful homes on a quiet street. It's a very short walk to the beach. I cannot believe we found a place this nice and pet friendly. The owners Paul and Nancy have done a wonderful job with their vacation rental and even had dog treats waiting for our pup upon arrival.... I would definitely recommend this for couples, friends, or families!"

  • Summer Vacation in Daytona

"My husband and I arrived at the condo on 7/27. We always come to Daytona every year and have for the last seven years. We decided to stay in a condo this year and had some reservations..since we have not always had a great stay at some in the past. Jan's condo was absolutely wonderful. It was spotless and very clean. It is on the third floor which overlooks the ocean. She had absolutely wonderful, comfortable and relaxing patio furniture to sit out on the balcony. She also has an ottoman and chair that lays back to take in the relaxing sounds of the ocean and the sun, if you don;t want to go to the pool or ocean. We loved the privacy of having a key to get into the font door at night of the facility and of the key that lets you into the pool and beach area. That way if you are not staying there you do not have the accessibility of the pool or the inside of the building. I would recommend Jan's condo to anyone. It is one of the best decision we have ever made. You are very secure, there is something for everyone from the pool to the hot tub, to the game room, to the beach. I give it 5 stars and will definitely stay here again. Thanks for the very relaxing vacation and the wonderful experience."

  • Great Stay at 1 Fish 2 Fish (and hopefully not our last)

"If you're reading this and wondering if this home meets your needs, DO NOT HESITATE TO RENT THIS HOME. My wife, our dog and I just returned from a great week in Daytona Beach here. This is the 2nd time that we've rented using HomeAway/VRBO, so if you are hesitant to use either, let me put your fears to rest. The process went very smoothly. The owners were available for and responsive to all questions before, during and after our stay. They also have a local caretaker in the area for any immediate assistance. Neighborhood: The photos and descriptions are very accurate, and we recognized the home immediately. The home is in a nice neighborhood and sits two blocks west of the main road (A1A) with all of the hotels/condos and the Atlantic Ocean (the beach is on the east side of A1A and the hotels/condos) and one block east of the beautiful Halifax River. The curb appeal of the home is great - lush, green grass+nice landscaping+wooden privacy fence separating the open front lawn and the enclosed back of the property. Enclosed Front Porch: The screened, carpeted front porch was a real bonus for us. It made for a great place to lounge while we watched and listened to a refreshing Florida rainstorm one afternoon. Variety of comfortable seating options, including rocking chairs+ceiling fan for a nice airflow. Living Room: Spacious, carpeted room with a large, comfortable leather sectional couch with built-in recliners. Big flat screen TV on the wall with plenty of HD channels and a DVD/Blu-Ray player. Also had a bamboo/rattan chair + ottoman. Kitchen: Had everything you could possibly want - stove, oven, microwave, frig, coffeemaker, pots, pans, blender, utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, etc. Believe me, if you can use it in a kitchen, they have it. Bathroom: Small, but fit the bill. Tub/shower combo + tons of towels. Very clean. Bedroom: Great bed, lots of pillows, ceiling fan, plenty of closet/storage space. Very serene room. Sunroom: Futon that pulls out for extra bed. Very relaxing space. Backyard/Pool: This was the best part for us. Fully enclosed, so pets can run free. Pool was clean and refreshing. Plenty of deck chairs/tables. Outdoor shower for the beach sand. Privacy fence. Garage: Washer/dryer. Grill+grill supplies. Pool toys. Beach supplies+wagon to roll it all to the beach. Bikes. Overall: Everything was spotless. Books, DVDs, games to use too. Guidebook for activities/restaurants. Just perfect. Rent & enjoy!"

Daytona Beach Travel Tips

Known as "The World's Most Famous Beach," Daytona Beach is an ideal destination attracting sunshine-seekers. The white sand shorelines are tucked along the east coast of central Florida, brimming with family-friendly activities. The city is home to the Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the Daytona 500, one of the biggest racing events in the country.

A Glimpse at Daytona

Though the population is only about 62,000, nearly 8 million vacationers from around the world flock to Daytona's shores each year. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, the weather is balmy - which is certainly one of its biggest perks. In the summer, temperatures hover around 80 degrees while they rarely get lower than 50 degrees in the winter. For logistic purposes, the city lies about 51 miles northeast of Orlando and 86 miles southeast of Jacksonville.

The Beach

Soak up the Florida sunshine along the 23 miles of shimmering beaches. With so much sun and sand, water sports are a must. Surfing, fishing, kayaking and dolphin-watching all make the list! Ride the fad wave of paddleboarding and try it out for yourself. If you want to sail thousands of feet over the ocean, strap in for an afternoon of parasailing. At night, there are a bunch of bars that party animals will enjoy. The best part? It's open 24/7 with free access!

The Daytona 500

The Daytona 500, dubbed "The Great American Race," is the shining star of NASCAR events. For decades, the 200-lap, 500-mile-long competition has been among the biggest, richest and most iconic races in the Sprint Cup calendar. The event takes place in the Daytona International Speedway around mid-February.

Fans young and old make their way to witness not only the exhilarating sights and sounds of the final race, but also Speedweeks, which is handful of events leading up to it. If you're coming with children, it's not a bad idea to buy a day pass and bring them to the pre-race activities, including giveaways and samples. Despite the mild weather, Daytona 500 is a long event, so spectators should dress in layers. Veteran 500-goers know to bring snacks, water and ponchos, just in case.
