  • Dream vacation summer of 2014

"Our family rented this property for July and August this summer and would like to say that this house not only had superior amenities (towels, sheets, blankets galore-over twenty beach towels) but the decor was so beautiful- bright greens and yellows, reds). If you have lots of company then select this place-as the seating was so plentiful. Very clean and we'll stocked kitchen. Trudy Browning ( the owner) bent over backwards to make sure the windows were clean and called to make sure that we had everything that we needed. She and I became fast friends and she made sure that we were happy!!! The internet was not on and she immediately remedied the situation for us. The best was how well stocked the beach chairs and bogie boards were. We found the place spotless and clean and left it the way we found it. This one is a real gem. Thank-you Trudy for all the help with making sure that we were happy!!! The Little's!!!"

  • Fabulous Time

"I just wanted to say that my family had an absolutely fabulous time!! Your home was absolutely perfect for us! We enjoyed the beach, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, BBQing and roasting marshmallows! Thank you for sharing your wonderful beach house with us! These are 7 grandchildren who loved every minute of their vacation! They are already asking when are we going again?"

  • Great views, clean condo, everything needed for condo vacation

"The condo was very clean. Furnishings were in excellent condition. The HVAC has a greater temperature swing than desired in that at times it would get too warm before the Air Conditioner would start and then too cold before it would cycle off. The building was being pressure washed and painted during our stay and this was a bit of inconvenience. The rental staff only sent the arrival, departure instructions by e-mail the day before our arrival after I advised them they had not been sent. Also the instructions are very explicit about lighting as it may affect the sea turtles during the time we were there. After reading all the detailed warnings, fearing that we would have to be in the dark after sunset, we learn that on our floor we did not need to worry about the matter. This information in the material would have saved the staff and me a phone call for clarification. All in all, the Inlet is the best short term vacation rental in New Smyrna Beach and I highly recommend it to anyone desiring great ocean views, swimming pools, clay tennis courts, and nice clubhouse with an exercise facility."

  • All around beach get a way

"We stayed here last weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The condo is so wonderfully decorated, clean and nicely updated. Having new bathrooms and a larger master bath was a real plus. It has everything you need in the kitchen, including a crock pot. Being on the ground floor and being able to walk right out to the beach and pool made things really easy for us. We couldn't have asked for a better location or for a better condo. The owner was very easy to deal with. We will definitely stay here again!"

New Smyrna Beach Travel Tips

Set on the Atlantic shoreline near the center of the eastern border of Florida, New Smyrna Beach is a relaxing and beautiful destination for those looking to get out in the sun, sand and surf. New Smyrna Beach Attractions

White sand beaches

With over 13 miles of breathtaking white sand beaches, the natural landscape of the shoreline at New Smyrna Beach is a must-see. The seemingly endless beach allows for a whole host of activities and cultures. Surfing, fishing, bird watching and a plethora of different water sports can be explored on any given day while strolling along the beach. Located just north of Canaveral National Seashore, the beaches in New Smyrna offer all the beauty of some of our nation's most loved coastal scenery while simultaneously giving off the vibe of a quaint surf town.

Embrace the arts

A perfect destination for those who love to take in the artistic side of things, New Smyrna Beach was named one of "America's Top Small Cities for the Arts." Each year, the calendar in NSB is absolutely packed with different art shows and classes featuring both performance and traditional artistic mediums. The Atlantic Center for the Arts, which offers residency programs to artists and classes to the public, is open year-round and considered one of the foremost artistic hubs in the area. New Smyrna Beach also boasts a local theater (known colloquially as "The Little Theater") and has multiple street fests celebrating the local arts community each year, such as Arts on Douglas.

New Smyrna Beach Things to Do

Hit the surf

Along this lavish length of white sand, you'll find people engaging in just about any beach activity you can imagine. Still, one of these pastimes stands out more than anything in New Smyrna, and that's surfing. Known for its vibrant community of surfing enthusiasts, New Smyrna Beach has been named to National Geographic's list of the World's 20 Best Surf Towns. Those with little to no experience looking to hit the waves should check out Nichols Surf Shop and Cafe. Located near the beach on Flagler Avenue, the shop is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day and offers great food as well as surfboard, skim board, boogie board and kayak rentals.

In business since 1969, Nichols Surf Shop and Cafe is the single oldest surf shop in all of New Smyrna Beach. A charming building, the cafe was first built in 1910 as a Sears mail-order home. Before becoming the current site of the cafe, the bungalow was occupied by several different tenants, including multiple mayors of New Smyrna Beach. Nowadays, Nichols Cafe makes the perfect pit stop for people headed out to the beach or back home from it. If you're gearing up for a big day out on the waves, fuel up with their BLT or their world-famous chicken salad. Inversely, for those looking for a reward after a long day at the beach or out on the water, you'd do better to pick up some of the banana bread or chocolate-covered espresso beans. Nichols is a spot for relaxation, so feel free to come by and simply take in the view with a glass of lemonade, a cup of coffee or one of their wonderful oasis fruit smoothies.

Slow ride, take it easy

Visitors to New Smyrna Beach are often taken aback by the drive-on beach that allows cars to traverse its sandy lengths. Pack the family into the rental car and pull onto the sand to experience beautiful Florida coastline from your own personal chariot. Cruise for a while until you find a place to park, then pull a blanket out and enjoy the day in the sun! Remember, there's an enforced 10 mile-per-hour speed limit, so be sure to leave your lead foot at the hotel. Remain in the marked traffic lanes at all times, and stay out of conservation areas to ensure that the beach stays beautiful for the visitors that come after you.

Love our links

With fantastic year-round weather conditions, New Smyrna Beach is a favorite destination among golfers of all skill levels. Each of the town's many courses feature at least nine holes, while several of the more expansive clubs have 27 different tee boxes. Those looking for a professional experience on a fast, beautiful course should consider visiting Hidden Lakes Golf Course. Featuring a wonderfully challenging, par-69 18-hole layout, this course is one you won't quickly forget. Plus, with lessons for the kids and a fully stocked bar in the pro shop, there's something for everyone. Take an afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the beach to come and play through 18 holes.
