Home Away from Home

We have stayed at Anchors Away for the past several years, usually for two weeks in October. This house is a comfortable home because it is very clean, tastefully furnished and well maintained by the owner's personal maintenance manager (Mickey). We enjoy relaxing by the pool and the use of the boat for our fishing trips. If you're taking the boat out, make sure you're familiar with the operation of the boat and please obey Florida's water safety regulations. The boat is a nice feature of renting this house, so please be safe. The house is convenient to many attractions; Lowry's Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, Tarpon Springs and the sponge docks, Dunedin and Honeymoon Island State Park, and many golf courses (played 6 rounds during our stay). Restaurants to try in NPR; Catches and Rossi's Italian, in Trinity; Brix 33 and in Tarpon Springs; Rusty Bellies."

"We enjoyed the month of Jan in this home with our two dogs. We visit Clearwater Beach each winter and have had several good experiences, but have to say this has been the best so far...mainly due to the fantastic pool and, even more, the "overflow" spa. We had never been in a hot tub or spa, believe it or not, and this one was heavenly...and the beautiful mature landscaping made it private and we relaxed as never before. The new master bedroom and en suite bath was perfect, the master bed was top-notch (a king would have been perfect, but the queen was very comfortable), the new kitchen excellent, and the original Florida room, with its jalousie windows (which were in dire need of cleaning...we did it). And of course, the proximity to the amazing beach (dog-friendly!), the wonderfully walkable neighborhood, the biking access to beaches, the city of Clearwater, and the main beach commercial strip and Pier 60 for people-watching was great. We would be delighted to return and plan to. The owners were easy to deal with, the maintenance and pool guys unobtrusive (though there seemed to be weed wackers and lawn mowers running somewhere in the neighborhood at all times, they became background after a few days). We will look forward to seeing what improvements the owners may make to the parts of the home still awaiting attention. Overall very good property, made excellent by the pool & spa."

"The house was lovely and accommodating; clean and kept up nicely, plenty of room for all 8 to 10 people! The warmth and sun of the Florida days was fabulous; the beach convenient and quiet in October (even spotted some dolphins in the water), and the pool the perfect temperature for a morning or evening swim. The walk into town was good exercise if you missed the Jolley Trolley (which was affordable). We would recommend a handrail at the pool since it was hard to get in and out for some. All-in-all we all had a wonderful, relaxing time with many memories to cherish! Thanks Dana!"

"We spent many hours looking for vacation rentals and hotels and were thrilled when we discovered this condo which appeared to have everything we were looking for our family of 4. When we arrived at the condo our amazing vacation began! The location is great. It is on the south end of the beach, but still a very easy walk to the beach and restaurants, even with 2 small kids, about 10 minutes. The trolley was available as well for transportation to the north end of the beach. It was easy to come back to the condo for lunch and then walk back to beach area in the afternoon/evening. There was more that adequate space for our family with 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen and living room area. Everything was very clean and modern. The owners also provided great tourist information, brochures etc. . The condo is stocked with ample kitchen supplies, towels, ironing board, hairdryer, everything we needed. Our kids were thrilled to find a closet full of beach and pool toys as well! We had a great time at the beach, but also really nice to have the pool available which we used several times. The beautiful view overlooking the harbor topped off the condo. It was so relaxing to sit on the quiet balcony without any street noise in the morning or evening. We even saw dolphins swimming on several days!
Owner was quickly responsive to emails during booking process and offered her availability during our stay (although no issues arose) We hope to return to Clearwater Beach in the future and would not hesitate for a moment to stay here again!"
