  • Great house, excellent fishing

"We rented this home between July 26th and August 9th, 2014. Everything is as described in the listing and in the other reviews. There were basic supplies in the kitchen upon arrival, and we topped everything up during our stay. The views from the balconies are great, and the views from the master are incredible. Lots of wildlife, seabirds, and manatees can be seen right off of the dock. We fished off of the dock almost every day (there are a couple of rods there, but we brought our own, and left some tackle behind). Great catches, good variety - snapper, jack cravalle, redfish, pinfish, catfish, toadfish, even a sting ray. There is a bait shop around the corner. We also rented a pontoon boat from Stirling Marina around the corner twice. Other things to do - canoe down the Weeki Wachee River, visit Pine Island Beach. We drove to Clearwater, went to Disney for one day, and visited other beaches. On most days, you can find dolphins in the area beaches and out in the Gulf, which our kids enjoyed. If you are looking for a safe clean place to stay, this house will suit your needs. We have been to Hernando Beach before, so were in cruise control most of the time, but for newcomers, you should know that the area is not a primary destination for tourists, and that there are a variety of people around. That being said, there are a lot of amenities to choose from, and you will have no shortage of options for dining, groceries, or anything else. We would have no problem staying here again in the future."

  • Great stay @ the Manatee House

"Great vacation... owners were very accommodating and took great care of our needs while there. They provided us with canoes, kayaks, bicycles, fishing poles, etc. If it wasn't at the house, we just asked!! They checked on our needs and were great to deal with but not intrusive. Very clean and well-maintained property. I would recommend this home or their other rentals to anyone. Couldn't ask for a better vacation spot. Relaxing with dolphins, sting rays and manatees, lots of birds, etc. just out the door! Lots of things to do close by, Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, etc."
