"If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with your morning coffee then this is the place for you but don't let that take away from the afternoons or evening enjoyment found on the patio just outside the back door. The changing of the tide as well as the bird watching (thanks to the sanctuary) right across the canal. You will be treated to daily visits from the birds such as Kramer, Fast Eddy as well as Woody, just to mention a few. As the view from the patio is westward, we were treated to amazing sunsets and a totally non "light polluted" skies for star gazing. The thrill you get the first time you see a dolphin pass by in the canal is unforgettable.
The place is so well equipped you will need for nothing and with large window in the newly renovated kitchen it not only provides a great view over the canal but is a dream to work in. We enjoyed the fact that we were close to anything you could want to do or see in Florida but yet still far enough away for the total relaxation. Al and Carrie are both wonderful people that are a fountain of information for almost any place to go or things to do while you are staying there. With great people like that who wouldn't want to go back again. Thanks Al and Carrie for a great vacation Bonnie & "T""

"The house was roomy and clean and very reasonably priced -- no hidden fees. Our oldest daughter visited for a few days from Orlando along with her husband and child and another daughter joined us as well. There was plenty of room for all of us. We spent many hours in and around the pool, which was nicely maintained. We kayaked on the Weeki Wachie River one day. That was a lot of fun. Another day we went to Homasassa Springs, about a half hour drive away, to see the manatees and other wild life. It's a very nice park. All in all, we had a quiet and relaxing week which was what we wanted."

"We spent a wonderful month in this cute home on the canal. The home is very well maintained and contains everything you need to start your vacation. The neighbors on either side are very friendly and courteous, and the area is generally quiet. The large lanai provides plenty of space for watching the sunset and dining. Our first morning there we saw a manatee in the canal while we were standing on the dock! Many sea birds entertained us daily and we enjoyed watching the bananas grow in the backyard. There are several good restaurants in the area and numerous parks within 20 miles or so."

"We were very happy with the Hudson home. The owner was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. The home was neat as a pin which is not always easy in tropical places. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and towels were soft and very clean. Everything in the home worked well, and we especially enjoyed the location on the canal. We were only able to use the kayak once but it was very enjoyable to paddle over to the beachside restaurant (Sam's) for lunch. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area."
