  • Everything was there!

"We rented the condo for a month in Dec 13/Jan 14. Upon arrival, we found a very clean, well appointed space and lacked for nothing during our visit. The kitchen was well stocked, and we really enjoyed the full bookshelves, too! Gail, the rental agent, and Wendy, the owner, were both very helpful and made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. The description was exactly correct. The 1-BR unit is small - I'm not sure I'd want to spend a month there with more than 2 people present, but for shorter trips the attached sunroom has a futon that could serve as an extra bedroom, especially since they have placed a curtain between that space and the living room that could make it into a more private area if needed. We really enjoyed the adjoining patio (weather permitting), and the tiki umbrella added to the ambiance. Parking is right in front of the unit, so very convenient, and the beach is just across the street. It wasn't very crowded even on the nice days at this time of year. Every shopping need is available just across the causeway, and there are tons of local restaurants and shops nearby to keep you busy. Our favorite was Salt Rock Grill which is just on the other side of the patio wall, so an easy walk. After all of that good food, we probably should have taken more advantage of the 2 nice bikes available with the unit but even with the great bike lanes in Indian Shores, we were hesitant to ride without helmets which we did not bring along. We had stayed at Barefoot Beach in the past for shorter trips and like the quiet, cleanliness and the facilities. Having grills and laundry facilities very handy is great, and the pool area is well kept. We told friends about the complex, and they arrived the day after we left, and the loved it too! We would definitely consider this condo again."

"The condo was very clean. The one block walk to the beach was very nice, very close. We really enjoyed the space. We hope to stay again."

  • Family Fun

"My family and I spent our second visit here and it was great! It is far superior than most places on beach with upscale shabby chic décor and the vacationer in mind. My son loves to fish and it is perfect with fish cleaning stations pier and hose all ready for the angler. Great location ate at Salt Rock and Slyce. Family stayed down the beach and commented our place was much better with so much more amenities. Thanks The McMillans"

  • Excellent Condo: Fantastic view and location.

"We are British. The Condo overlooks the inland sea waterway, very few do on the Barefoot resort. From the condo's patio area, on a daily basis, we saw dolphins and lots of sea birds including Great Herons and Ospreys. The air con was supplied to each room, including both bedrooms. It easily coped with the humid conditions. There is also a ceiling fan in each room, the air con is controlled by an accurate thermostat. The condo is well appointed, spacious and very clean. We used Trudi's TV, phone and games, thank you! The kids and ourselves loved having free Wi-Fi. It is a short 1 minute walk to the 'Barefoot' pool. The pool is warm, we always got seats/loungers but we did feel the pool should be a little bigger, however, it was August. It was a five minute walk to the fantastic beach. We have never experienced a warmer sea! The car can be parked easily at the rear door of the condo using Trudi's pass. There is a large fridge, cooker and microwave and everything you need to cook. We did have breakfast there every morning but ate out each night. We spent most evening's at either John's Pass or Clearwater, both of which took about 10 minutes to drive. I would say a car is very useful at the condo, although we did notice buses passing. Even though we were in England, Trudi was very easy to deal with. She always replied to e-mails within hours. If you are sending money over to her we used a currency exchange company 'Currencies Direct', (there are others). This avoids the excessive charges applied by British Banks. It took us 2 hours to drive to Universal Studios (approx. 100 miles). Indian Shores is a quiet resort, with quiet beaches. I think if you are young and after a more lively atmosphere you might be better off in Clearwater. There are 3 or 4 laundrettes on the site within 1 minutes walk of the condo. Very useful for keeping your suitcase weights down. Just save your 25 cent pieces up. The office helped us change some money though. They also have lots of leaflets there and can offer advice. Its very tempting to rent a boat whilst there. The nearest company had lots with 200hp engines. They wouldn't let me hire one, because I only have 2 hours experience with a motor boat on the River Thames! If we Brits have certificates of experience I would suggest you take it. We had a tremendous holiday and would love to return, probably when the teenagers (17 & 13) have flown the nest and we don't have their airfares to pay!"
