"My family of three stayed in this cottage and loved it. We had stayed at a different Blue Heron Cottage last year and wanted to come back. That cottage was booked, but it all worked out. We liked this one better. :)
I love that we were steps away from the pool and the beach. We have family in Tampa and plan to stay here next time we visit."

"A small cottage on a canal in the Weeki Wachee Springs community is what we wanted and this is exactly what we got and beyond! We had a little row boat to take our three girls out on the canal to see their first manatees up close as well as water that you can see through. The cottage had all the right things for our little family. Our family has two young children that have severe food allergies and to be able to cook and have an extensive clean house was what we needed for our first family vacation in 8 years and that is what we got. Flip also went above and beyond answering all questions and making sure that we had everything that we needed. The beach isn't far away either for spring/river swimming or for gulf coast salt water swimming. Weeki Wachee was only 10 minutes away to provide a great water park, history of the area, and MERMAIDS!!!! My own childhood dreams came true of having great aunts leaving in the New Port Richey area passing by this beautiful place growing up. The cottage is only 45 mins from Tarpon Springs a great small sponge fishing, Greek community which we suggest anyone go to for authentic Greek cuisine. The trees and being right next to the Preserve and Wildlife refuge was beautiful for the Environmental Educator in me! My girls got to catch frogs, fish, lizards, and see fresh air succulents on all the trees as well as large Cypress trees that are 100s of years old. I am telling you this place is a dream and will be a place we seek out for another vacation!"

"We really enjoyed our one week at the suite and on Treasure Isl! It was perfect for us considering we had a 9 month old baby with us. The beach was close and clean, the pool was perfect - baby loved it, the complex was quiet and very clean. The suite had everything to make breakfast, lunch and dinner, although we went out for dinner most nights. It was clean and there was blinds and drapes for privacy and keep sun out on very hot days. The complex is right on the beach trail which we walked everyday. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything (Publix, Walgreens, restaurants, shops, John's Pass). We didn't have a car and we managed to get around by walking (with a baby and stroller). One recommendation I would make for the owners is to keep the beach umbrella in the suite for quick and easy access. Going to the beach with a baby, you absolutely need shade as it is sunny and hot all day. Otherwise, everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation."

"Though the house was clean and neat and very well stocked, it really needs to be updated. The walls are dark paneling, making the entire inside dark. The low wattage light bulbs make it even more dark. A coat of a light color paint would improve the appearance a lot.The renter also needs to be aware that even though you are on the water, you may not be able to drive a boat in or out to Crystal River or the Gulf. The tides are not always cooperative. We ended up trailering our boat to the marina. And be sure you have lots of insect repellant. The noseeums in this area are vicious. My husband received 50 plus bites in one afternoon. Tides and bugs are no fault of the owner, of course, but something you need to be aware of. Overall, we enjoyed the area immensely and with a few updates, would consider this rental again."
