"My daughters planned a surprise “Girls-Get-Away-Weekend” and keeping the destination a secret, promised it would be “fun.” Pulling into the driveway long after dark, afforded little insight as to what lay beyond the front door. As the lights were flipped on room after room, I was taken back by what I saw (and thanks to my earlier imagination – what I didn’t see). The open living room with the stone wall framing the fireplace seemed to invite one to go and curl up on the huge leather couch with a good book or to share the details of the day’s events with family or friends. Your kitchen has everything one would need to create gourmet meals and I love the wonderful bar that opens into the living & dining room enabling the “chef” to still interact with everyone. Before turning in, we took our wine and headed down to the dock where chairs & a table were strategically placed. The moon was bright – no flashlights needed. Owls in the distance provided the background music for nearby crickets, and the occasional “popping” of a fish on the surface of the water were the only sounds we heard. With a satisfying sigh I thought… it just couldn’t get better than this! But it did. After the best night’s sleep I’d had in years (literally), the 3 of us kayaked to the Weeki Wachee River and then out to the Gulf of Mexico. An amazingly easy trip! The water is so cool and crystal clear. I couldn’t believe that we saw 6 small waterfalls emptying into the river – who knew, waterfalls in Florida?! Unfortunately, as all good things invariably come to an end, so did our weekend. We all agreed this would be the start of a new family tradition and began making plans to come back. This vacation rental has everything one could want – both inside and out. Also, the close proximity to the untouched wilderness of the river despite the stores being close by if needed is a bonus. What a wonderful, amazing place you have! Just prior to leaving, I wandered down to the dock to enjoy a few moments of solitude. It was then I realized that I was leaving with so much more than I came with, something extra I didn’t expect - I came to know my daughters better than I ever did – not as my children, but as the amazing women they have become. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I look forward to returning again and again and… Sincerely, Sheree’ B."Guest: Sheree' Date of Stay: September 2013 Review Submitted: October 9, 2013View listing

"This was by far one of the most relaxing vacations my family and I have had in a long time. We spent a week in this wonderful home with all the amenities we needed. The sheets on the bed were so soft and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed just sitting on the deck having our morning coffee and watching the manatees swim by. We were visited by a Blue Heron almost everyday and he waited for a fresh fish my father would catch while he fished from the dock. We also kayaked almost everyday and my 4 year old son loved it! The beach was not far and it was also very nice. Some locals we spoke with actually stopped by to give us some fresh fish they caught that day in the Gulf. Made for a great dinner. Yes I also have to mention I had a box shipped with toys, which arrived late, so the property owner was nice enough to meet us at the airport well past 10:00pm to deliver the box to us. That is great costumer service! We are looking forward to returning next year!"Guest: Cindy B. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 15, 2014View listing
"Meg, thank you so much for this amazing home. We had a blast. We were out kayaking everyday, couldn't stay off the river. We even rented a boat and went scalloping for the first time, and it couldn't have been any better. We will definitely be coming back. The pool was so refreshing, and relaxing. We saw so many manatees too! Thanks again, two thumbs up!!"Guest: Amy Lynne Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 31, 2014View listing
