  • Turkey day getaway

"We travel to Florida every year to see my family for Thanksgiving. Usually it's up in Jacksonville, this year was a change of place. We found Linda to be a most accommodating hostess. Although a cold front went through and it wasn't as warm a we would have liked, we still had a great time. Listening to the fish hop in the canal was pretty funny. Almost like they were daring my husband to catch them, but to no avail! You absolutely must eat at La Bella Napoli, the restaurant in front of the house! Fabulous!!! We will be back the next time Turkey day is in the Tampa area!"

  • Great family vacation spot

"Our family of 5 stayed for a week and found it the perfect location for a great spring break vacation. There are so many things to do. Kayaking to the beautiful Weeki Wachee river and parks starts right in your backyard. You are a few minutes from Pine Island beach park and about an hour from Honeymoon Beach and Caladesi Island. Also an easy drive down to the Greek town of Tarpon Springs and the sponge docks. An hour from Tampa's Busch Gardens and 1.5 hours from Orlando's attractions. The property is well maintained and is a comfortable home away from home. Plenty of linens, towels, dishes, etc. Having the kayaks and canoe available with the dock and launcher is a great perk and so convenient. There are stores and restaurants nearby, including a couple of Urgent Care facilities--seems like somebody always gets sick on vacation. The owner is extremely kind and helpful and communication is timely and thorough. We would definitely return--the kids are ready to turn around and go back right now!"

  • Great Place!

"We absolutely had a great time at the home! Great location for our daytime adventures. Enjoyed fishing from the deck as well as using the fir pit on cool nights. Home was in great shape inside and out. Very relaxing. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks."

  • Perfect Getaway from Atlanta area.

"My wife, our 16 yr. old daughter, her best friend, and I arrived Easter Sunday 2015 and stayed for the week. What a great trip and awesome house. The location is perfect (half way between the head springs and the gulf) and the house was super clean and very comfortable with all the amenities you could want or need. Super comfy beds, neat shower, covered parking, and music piped throughout the house. FYI - AT&T cell signal is almost non existent but we had great WIFI and the house phone to give out for those needing to get in touch with us. We brought our own kayaks but it was nice to have the owner's available. The location was perfect for driving our kayaks to the head spring to launch at Paddler's Adventure ($6 to launch each) and dropping off one of us at Rogers Park for the shuttle back ($5.00) to get our truck while the rest of us paddled straight to the house just a couple of turns further down river. Even though we missed Manatee season by a week or two, we still saw and paddled with a handful. We also rented a boat at the nearby marina and went out to the gulf. The neighbors were very nice and recommended two great restaurants that we ate at: Guido's for great pizza and the biggest portion of Lasagna we've ever seen, and The Freezer in Homassasa for awesome steamed shrimp! If you're a golfer - there is a fantastic 36 hole facility about 20 miles north east (easy drive up 19 and cut over) called World Woods. Both courses are ranked in the Top 100 in the country with very reasonable rates and a pleasure to play. Use Golf Now for the best rates. We stayed busy visiting Clearwater Beach, Homassasa, and the Crystal River area aside from lots of time on the most beautiful of rivers - the Weeki Wachee. Just plain fun using the rope swings and tree jumps along the river in a place that looks like you are in another country or tropical paradise. The owners were super fast in responding to questions and made the whole process very simple and trouble free - much appreciated! We hated to leave but sure we'll be back."
