"Our family of five spent a week at this hidden treasure of a home. The owner was helpful and very responsive. We so enjoyed having kayaks at our disposal and we used them daily. One afternoon we encountered a trio of manatees! We also kayaked to Monkey Island several times during our stay. The home is well equipped with linens and a full service kitchen. We got good use out of the grill as well as the screened patio. The children relished having the pool all to themselves. We relished it being screened to keep out the bugs! During our week, we visited Weeki Wachee, Ellie Schiller park, Three Sisters spring/Crystal River kayak- nice people and Fort Island Gulf beach. All venues were well worth the excursions. Our last night we bought local grouper and shrimp from Shelly's Seafood and it was delectable! We truly had a wonderful, relaxing family getaway! Thank you, Mel!"

"We loved our stay, the owners were awesome. If we had any questions or concerns, they replied quickly with solutions. Everything we needed was close by. The neighbors were also very friendly."

  • New Brunswick Canada Tampa Bay fans!

"This was absolutely perfect! The apartment was well furnished with a complete kitchen, very clean and property was well maintained. It is nestled in off the street and has a glorious common courtyard with a beautiful garden. On site washer & dryer is nice to have as well as private parking in the back off the street. Property is located in an old beautiful historic Northeast area, close to everything, shopping, restaurants, beach, golf and Tropicana field. Els the owner is a gracious, wonderful person. From the moment I met her she was like family, as though I knew her a lifetime, very comforting indeed. She was very helpful in all regards and went above and beyond to make our vacation fantastic! She is a true Tampa Bay baseball fan, a sport and conversation we much enjoyed sharing with her. Little Cooper her dog was perfect company, much attention to be had in the courtyard under my chair with him. A truly wonderful vacation and fond memories of a friend, Els. I can't wait to book another vacation there and would highly recommend this perfect quaint property. Until we meet again Els, take care....GO RAYS!!!!"

  • location, view and cleanliness made for a great stay for us!

"We arrived to find the condo exactly as pictured and the fourth floor view absolutely fantastic. Having never been to the area, we chose Island Inn after looking at satellite views and finding that this was one of the closest condo's to the water edge (with the closest walk out to the beach. There are much wider parts of the beach which make for a long walk back to the bathroom! This condo provided the amenities we needed, not a top of the line place but plenty adequate. We only cooked breakfast, but there were 2 fry pans and a sauce pan. We used the 2 beach chairs supplied every day and were very grateful for them. Even a paddleboard and noodles are there for your use. The bathroom was very adequate and the condo felt big and spacious. Only thing I noticed was that there was not a lot of room to store snacks and extra drinks. I like to put out of site and there werent really any open cupboards with space to store. Luckily we didnt have a lot and used the nice pub style table to hold our snacks. Fridge is a small full-size and adequate for our needs. The King bed is firm. You should be prepared for that. We don't mind firm but I might wish for a little softer bed, pillow top, of course, if I'm making wishes! It was not bumpy or old and we slept fine with it. Pillows were great. We visited in the so-called "off-season" but we thought it was the perfect time! Having said that, the beach was not busy at all. There were never more than about 8 people spread out on the beach at one time. VERY nice! Sand is beautiful and beach is awesome for walking or jogging! One of the BEST features of this complex is the Trolly stop for both directions directly in front of the hotel. It was sooo convenient for the reasonable $4.50 all day ride price. John's Pass is an adult playground with restaurants, bars, jetski and boat rentals, booze cruise, dolphin cruises, etc. and is only a 2-3 minute trolley ride away. Coming back from a night at the Pass is awesome when the trolley literally drops you 10 feet from the front door! Some places we enjoyed were: Dave's Dockside huge and delicious grouper sandwich, Sculley's on the water at John's Pass, Bubba Gump's at John's pass, The Hut & Mad Pub at John's Pass, Gators, Ka'tiki and Caddy's. If you like to hang on the beach, rent a jetski or take a boat ride, go to dinner, have a few drinks and relax, this is the place to go!"
